CDF- Thanks for the advice! I will definitely check out the Dodo! ( and I thought *books* were going to be my downfall!) I love the Karambit as well. I can't help holding it,(my Harpy) it's "almost" like falling in love! There are too many Sheeples everywhere, especially where I live. Unfortunate. Have a good evening, all. Another "babe with a blade". The women are kind of out numbered here but that makes you special, and liking these "spydies" makes you more so...Allen Treat a forum member just sent my daughter her first spydie so she is part of the "family" now. Another special ladie out her is "Simona".

I'm north of you in Valley Center. The next time the gun show comes to Del Mar (crossroads of the west) you need to go...There are lots of knives and there is no better thing than to see and handle them. The next date is not until July 17-18. They are about evey two months.

Ken- that would be fun to go to! My parents live above Orange Glen Elementary, and I live in North Park. (not the BEST neighborhood in the world. I've seen more prosties than I have ever seen in my life! Plus it's dangerous out here. Hence, the Harpy. LMAO I showed it to a friend of my former boyfriend, and he was amazed that I had bought this! He said "Hey, dude, don't make this lady mad, this thing is lethal!" Forgot to mention...invest in a Sharpmaker. I ruined the heck outta my first Merlin and 1st Gen. Dragonfly trying to sharpen them w/ a diamond rod!

Daywalker- investing in a Sharpmaker is probably a good idea. I've been devouring "The Spyderco Story"- it's SO good-and I keep looking at the brochure I received with my Harpy and Ladybug- ahh that Karambit looks soooo fine. I know some people are not that fond of it, but aesthetically (sp) - but I do need to learn how to handle these blades. Thanks for the Psalms, too. I'm just a lurker, but this is the best, friendliest, and most knowledgeable community of posters on the Internet! Besides "Simona" -- another interesting poster and lady Spyderco afficionado is "saltydog" -- an Episcopal priest!
Anyway, I strongly agree with cdf that in light of your interest in hawkbill-style blades, the DoDo is definitely a "must" for your consideration! G-10, Top Steel, Neat Lock, Made in USA, Knife-of-the-Year Winner, comes in Royal Blue OR Black, P.E. or Serrated, etc., etc.

CDF- I am seriously thinking about purchasing a Dodo- you're right, they do look more Sheeple friendly and if it can ais me in a self defence situation, that would be most helpful. But what about the S.P.O.T? Thanks!
