What Spyderco design is Sal Glesser most proud of?
Sometimes I wonder what knife he'd choose for EDC from his Spyderco designs. Anyone know?

Re: What Spyderco design is Sal Glesser most proud of?
He has said that he likes to carry the Military, Stretch, Caly3.5 and Manbug. I am sure there are others but those have been mentioned a few times. We have a 3.5 inch limit here in Colorado so that comes into play.
Sal is a test bed for prototypes so while he has said that those are the knives that he likes to EDC every time I have met Sal he has pulled a couple of prototypes from his pocket so it would seem as though he is usually testing new models. Maybe he just carries the protos at work and carries the others at home. Who knows.

I've seen him post about the Stretch being a model he actually made for himself so that should tell you something.

Let sal tell us himself what about eric or kristy

Didn't Sal mention always reaching for a ladybug when he needs a knife for everyday carry, during one of those "Spyderco Tour" videos by bladehq?

That or the Manbug is the one he carries the most I once heard him say.Mushroom wrote:Didn't Sal mention always reaching for a ladybug when he needs a knife for everyday carry, during one of those "Spyderco Tour" videos by bladehq?
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.
Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

Yeah I knew I had heard it was one of the those two somewhere! I just went through the "tour" videos I mentioned and didn't hear anything of it, so I must have heard it somewhere else.

Probably pretty proud of the compression lock I would think..

I would be the most proud of the Para2 or of the Delica/Endura. The latter two knives must be at the top of the all time sales list and the Para2 has to make all other knife manufactures weep. Those are some crazy successful designs.

I can't speak for Sal, but it seems that he's been pretty partial to the ZDP-189 Brown G-10 Stretch as of late. However, Sal's got a ton of othet designs to be proud of too. Eric too, for that matter.

Agree and yet Sal never mentioned one of these models, instead he mentioned Military + Manbug(Ladybug) and/or Caly3.5/Stretch.bearfacedkiller wrote:I would be the most proud of the Para2 or of the Delica/Endura. I am willing to bet that would be like asking someone which one of their kids is their favorite.
Bacon. Sometimes beer, but mostly bacon. I like Spydercos.

Re: What Spyderco design is Sal Glesser most proud of?
Hard call. Possibly the Worker, his first and the one that, if it had not succeeded might very well have been his last.
Possibly the C15 Terzuola, Spyderco's first collaboration, and with one of the top names in custom knives.
Possibly the Military, he said he designed it as a knife he'd want his son to carry if he ever went off to war.
Possibly the Dodo, his son Eric's first design.
Possibly the WTC Knife/D'Allara Rescue, for reasons that should not need to be explained.
Possibly the Stretch, but I doubt it, as I think Sal is too humble to take the most pride in something he designed for himself.

I talked to him at Blade a few years ago, and got the impression he was fond of the Catbyrd.

Re: What Spyderco design is Sal Glesser most proud of?
My understanding also, if judged solely on the CQI applied to it, all the way back to the Hunter (C03). But, of course, only Sal can say. After all, there have been over a hundred models introduced since the C90...spydieh0le wrote:Stretch.
