Nice knives, Paul. Those old Mariner's are a thing of beauty. :) I'll have to do some digging to see what old Spydies I have. Maybe an old Co-Pilot or something fun...

There is something really intriguing about the era of the late 90s because that's when it seemed like Spyderco really shifted gears in a huge part of their marketing. There really was a transition of sorts taking place during that time slot when VG-10, ATS-55, 440V all came into the folders of that time period.
But for nostalgia the Spyderco folders in the ATS-34 era were indeed some of the more interesting blades IMO.
That Pegusus is one really nice ergonomic model but unfortunately you don't see it around very often anymore. There was another one from that time period and even out of the same era >> the SPUR model was also a very ergonomical folder as well.
Also don't forget those Jess Horn models from that period as well.
Currently I think it's this Lime Green FRN Jester but the oldest I've had were a Endura and Worker, both SE ATS-55 and both gifted away since I dislike the steel.

Upgrading to a Ti ATR once I sell my stainless ATR :)

I also had one of those AUS-8 RESCUE models>> AUS-8 was a really decent blade steel for Spyderedged blades. Although they did make plain edged RESCUE in AUS-8 but they are getting as rare as a two screw Worker model.
Some of the early Catcherman models were made with AUS-8 as well>> my first fully serrated Catcherman is AUS-8 and it's still one of my "go-to" blades in my kitchen endeavors along with my Temp 1 which I use a a mini-chef's knife.
I also believe that my set of Stainless Caly Junior models had AUS-8 as well. A great steel for Spyderedges for sure.

Is AUS-8 much different from AUS-6? My AUS-6 Endura edge is beat up bad. Can't remember if it is abuse or just bad steel.
What would Spyderco do if I sent it in for warranty you think? Just charge me to fix the edge best they can?
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.
Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.
