I can relate to this as I was looking for the same thing recently and went with the Sage2. The wire clip gives it a nice low carry and the size is enough to handle most of my daily tasks without freaking anyone out.

I will eventuall get a Stealth Chap though too.

Well if both is an option why didn't you say so from the start.

Forgot the Native is sub 3 inches. Forum knife, S90V for less than 100 bucks is this still really a question?

As for grinding it I say go for it but I am not a Safe queen light use knife kind of dude.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

If you don't mind spending the extra $$$ and you like the color - then I would say that is the number one choice. O/W the regular Native 5 LW in black. Chap a distant third

Street price for a Chaparral CF is almost the same as the Forum 2015 Native with the discount code (if it's still working).

I would think that the Chaparral in unmodified form comes closer to the OP's criteria.

My Chaparral doesn't have a thick grind at the edge, however it isn't that much thinner at the edge than other Spydercos with thicker spines... this is easily remedied with 20 minutes and a coarse bench stone though :D

It sounds like the CF Chap would likely fit your criteria the best. Honestly though, I think the Dragonfly2 would be a viable option, as would the Bradley Air. (I know the Air doesn't have a pocket clip, but believe me, it is a fantastic little design. One of my favorite gentleman folders).

Another vote for the Chaparral. Great ergos for a smaller knife and it's the thinnest bladed Spyderco I own.

I would also suggest the Chaparral Carbon Fiber. I have had one for three or four years and it is a great design for what you are wanting. I would also take a look at a Ti Damascus Delica. It is super thin but fits the hand well, plus it looks good.

Oh - I did not think of that and I even own one! A VERY classy knife. Do consider it! Ti handles are fantastic. They don't scratch like stainless steel.

Bradley Air all the way dude.

I carry regular size EDC's when I'm outside the office but when it comes time to carrying a light, small, non-threatening office EDC, the air is pretty hard to beat. I sharpened mine on my wicked edge setup and it is a crazy sharp letter opener. I have since added a Squarehead to my office EDC rotation, which you may want to consider as well. I like this one too, but the Air carries just as well in a pair of dress slacks and is a bigger more functional knife at the end of the day.

While the Chaparral is a great choice - consider the Dice.

Do not give up on the air yet. Not a lot of comments so far but it is very light and with m4 steel you could have it re ground very thin if you wish.

I will also say I really like the Air. *Very* light, and I think the silver twill CF is really pretty. M4 is great as long as you aren't always getting it wet/salty etc.

The Michael Walker in CF and ZDP 189 is also fantastic, but unfortunately is discontinued.
