Military, Paramilitary 2, or Manix XL??
Which big Spyderco folder; Military, Paramilitary 2, or Manix XL? Opinions please.
Re: Military, Paramilitary 2, or Manix XL??
Millie, because:
i. Iconic Spyderco Model ( if that kinda thing matters to you )
ii. Pointy, svelte, distally tapered blade with just the right amount of belly
iii. Lightweight compared to size ( a BIG plus for me )
iv. Excellent ergonomics
v. Infinitely adjustable pivot
vi. Walker linerlock
vii. Lots of premium steel choices, such as my personal favorite, Cruwear, which is not available on PM2....yet
I own multiples of all 3...can't go wrong with any of your listed models...love 'em all :)
Para2 comp. lock pinches me at random times when I least expect it
Manix XL requires me to "think" more about closing...at this point in my use of Spydercos, deploy/open/close is mindless second nature to me with the Militaries :spyder:
disclaimer...I recognize what I list as buying points may be defined as weaknesses by other ELU's...but it works for me...also, I must be held harmless if this post makes you go on the hunt for high priced M4, s90v, or CF M390 Millies on the secondaries. :p

Re: Military, Paramilitary 2, or Manix XL??
I'm a Manix Xl man myself. The other two have more neutral ergonomics, designed to work for most. The XL ergos are less neutral but are perfect for my hand so I love it as a large folder, gloved or no. I think of the three the PM 2 is the most carryable option and the XL is the least, as it's taller closed than the Millie. However, when deciding to go with a large folder I'm prepared to make some concessions for carry. If I want invisible I go Delica. As will be repeated by all, you can't go wrong on this list and the value on all of these is incredible.

Im always wishing the Manix XL would come in a liner lock......that being said, Id say Manix XL anyway. Ive never had a knife feel better in the hand.....
But you would love the Millie as well. I know I do.
Get both. Seriously.

They're all quite different--you really need all three!
But if it is just to be one, then I have to vote PM2.

I just (like 10 minutes ago) picked up a PM2 to replace my Manix 2 in my daily line up. I like the comp lock a little better and the PM 2 feels much lighter then my Manix 2.

I like all three but there's just something special about the PM2, fits my hand perfect and the comp lock is my favorite, it's never once pinched me.I really like it's blade shape too, you'd think that tip would be weak but it's held up great for me.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

Police 3 G10. Big, bad, and thinner than the others.

Yes!
Wait I think you are trying to say you only want one of them? That can't be right.

On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.
