Forum Native Loose Screw

So I carried my brand new 2015 Native Forum knife with me to work today. And while I was working I reached into my pocket for my phone and felt something odd in the bottom of my pocket, so I fished it out and it was a small torx screw. I thought that was odd, but checked my new knife and sure enough it was missing the scale screw next to the mid back lock. It didn't appear to have any locktite on it, so I safely stowed it away to replace later. When I got home I put it back in with a T6 torx driver and snugged it up tight. Then I checked the other scale screw and tightened it up as well. I did not add any locktite, but think maybe I should since it came out completely with very little use. I was lucky that I just happened to feel it in the bottom of my pocket when I did, or it could have very easily been lost in the laundry. I just thought I'd let you all know, so you can check your screws and make sure they are tight.

I think its a good practice to snug all the screws on a new knife, and add thread locker if required.

(This applies to a new motorbike as well... I once found a loose cylinder nut lying on my bash plate ! :eek: The bike was a new KTM 640 Adventure, a big old single cylinder. It had the bad habit of trying to vibrate itself to pieces, and almost succeeded in the short time I had it...)

Usually when I receive a new knife I remove the screws one by one and Loc-Tite every one. I know Spyderco does it from the factory but I have had a few that had loose screws as well. My Para 2's have come from the factory with loose screws where the stop pin is. Usually just one side, not both.
