Hello,

Does anyone know how to remove a black pit spot from my M4 Blade?
I just got it and cannot buff it out. You will have to zoom in to see it.

Thank You

I would use a buffing wheel at low rpm on a dremel with a polishing compound. Its probably just surface corrosion so it shouldn't be too hard to polish out but I'd give the blade a light oiling afterwards.

Thanks For the reply.
I'm considering either returning it or sending it into Spyderco. It appears to be a pit in the blade just not on the surface. I know the seller say's he really needs the money. I just wanted a new one to add to my very small collection.

I hope Spyderco keeps these ball bearing locks coming. I think they would sell more than lock backs or any other locking type out there.

I have a franken manix 2 with M4 blade and it has patina on the blade as well as some pits. If you are going to use the knife then don't worry about the spot. If you want it as a safe queen then maybe you want it to be museum quality, but hopefully you also know that they aren't made anymore so finding another one might be tough.

Unfortunately the blade was also chipped and missing a piece of the edge. If this is the way M4 blade steel is going to hold up I'm going to stay away from any knives with this blade steel.

More M4 Para's for me then :D
Joking aside, I didn't think M4 was prone to chipping.
