Just some quotes from Edge Matters...(BTW, it looks like their forum knife will be a Pingo or an Urban.)
Also FYI, I'm carrying an Urban with a tan handle and a tan Cerakoted blade. It's an experiment that the maker gave us. Eric is carrying a dark gray version with a dark gray Cerakoted blade. So far the coating is holding up. I'm not a big fan of coatings myself, but I thought I'd share the info.

FYI, we just finished a drawing for a Slippie lite weight Navigator. Don't think it would work for a forum knife as it would be many months away.

The Navigator is a long time favorite of mine. I'd love to see it revived, slippie or locking.

Pretty amazing fun fact I'd say!

This is good news! I'd really like to carry the d'allara rescue at work. My hope is that it will still have the same grind as the original. I hope there will be an FRN version.

I'll say! Artifacts like this should be on display in a special high security museum room at the SFO

I wish there would be an FRN version though to keep the price point down. My work knife tends to get abused so I like to not have a lot of money invested in it.
That's the plan, just like the new Stretch 2, to make a "first edition" in G-10 and run it by the Spydernation to check for popularity and see if any minor changes need to be made before creating the expensive FRN molds.

I hope there are plans to bring out a drop point version as well in PE and SE, and CE would be nice too!

The model I handled in Amsterdam was a FFG drop point in PE, which is probably the most practical choice. Unsure about future edge type variants.

Was the handle still nice and hand-filling?

No, being of "slab" construction, the knife didn't have any thickness contours. Obviously the hand-filling contour of the original is really the thing that sets it apart, so I was a bit let down by the feel of the version I handled. However, we shouldn't get too worked up about it until an actual version comes out and then we can judge. I'm confident that, in the end, the newer FRN D'allara will possess some form of contouring.

Contouring is the plan, but not too much to make the knife uncomfortable to carry in a pocket. No more than necessary, no less than perfect.

I had known that, about the drop point; I even mention it in my signature. I got so caught up in the recent thread which is mainly about the D'Allara Rescue, I was thinking the current prototype was a Rescue. I'm pretty well stuck on both now and am actually glad the new one is a drop point. So I guess the question becomes, will the drop point be followed by a new Rescue, and I think the answer is YES :p because I think the new drop point model will be very well received. Also, since it's a proto at this point, it may not be engraved in stone that it'll come out first in drop point, though I think it's very likely. However I still want at least one example of the hollow ground drop point, and I seem to be getting back my old fondness for CE blades, so I'd like to have one of those too :)

I think it's great to see the naked BB lock remaining in production.

I wasn't sure if Sal had ever mentioned the hand-carved WTC handle before but I'm glad it's in here. I'm also glad to see all the D'Allara discussion. I'm in for any and every model that comes out: rescue, drop point or something new.

Can we change the name of this thread to
"Let me share my feelings Thread"
and then open another thread for bombshells? Some people subscribe to this for actual bombshells.

From the "Jump aster" thread (spell corrected Jumpmaster :) )
I think this is a little bit of a bombshell, for Jumpmaster fans at least.

I've just completed the first version of a clip point Jumpmaster model. Waiting on the proto from Roque, our proto guy. I'd like to add it to the line. Both the sheepfoot Jumpmaster and the clip point XXXXXXX are planned to be available with Kydex sheaths with the "leg strap" sheath as an accessory.
