It used to be part of what separated the Sprint from Production. Along with the FFG versus Hollow.

I think now it has more to do with keeping the production cost down. The Manix is a model that was said to be experimenting with a lower cost margin. It's a pretty amazing model with being USA made, the materials, the quality and the price as far as I'm concerned!

Personally I'm MUCH happier with FFG than I would have been with skeletonized liners. They don't drop all that much weight and the increase in slicing ability is of far more use to me. It's also much easier to drill holes in a liner than it is to regrind a blade.

I have a 2nd generation Manix 2 and it has full liners
