I have a Para and a Military and I am very positive that you should also get both! :)

Here is how I carry them:
- the Para is in the same EDC rotation group as the Caly3, small sebenza, mini Dejavoo - that is, capable 3"-ish blades that I carry on my "single knife" days.
- the Millie is large ...

thank you

Thank you Lev, I owe you one for this news! I've been wanting a Lum for so long but could not get my hands on 'em (eBay is not so easy from Hungary) and now I have one in order from knifeworks :) Man, this is great! I hope the white Goddard will keep it good company in the box on its way here.... :D ...

Let me see:

- Harpy
- Manix CE
- Spyderfly
- Caly3 PE
- Para PE
- Military PE
- Cricket SE

I confess that I also bought some non- :spyder: ones as well, but Spyderco wins my 2008 purchase list by far.

I bought a D2 FG PE Para this summer. It's in my weekly EDC rotation. Sadly, there are not enough cutting tasks in my daily routine that would really take the Para (or any knife) to its limits, but I do play a lot with it. So far, so good. No noticeable blade play, nicely centered blade, smooth ...

knifeworks is OK a well

Hi Azad, welcome here!

I live in Europe and buy most of my knives from knifeworks. They do charge USD 33.95 for shipping here, but I have found their prices comparable with NGK and they accept PayPal and credit cards. I usually wait until I can place an order totalling ~300 USD (buying together ...

Cricket for me, although I don't have all the other possibilities -yet... :D
The nicest thing about the Cricket for such occasions is that I can wear it clipped to the outer side of the fabric of my pants and cover it completely with the belt. Completely invisible but easily accessible.

Hi,

I recall reading about WD40 leaving a sticky residue after extensive use. I use it when cleaning a badly jammed old folder but for regular knife care mineral oil is IMHO better.

I was actually thinking about getting metal handles machined... What do you think about that idea?

Sounds like an interesting project. I myself would not go this far in interfering with Eric's design, but that's just me. Please do post pics and your experiences if you actually do this.

THG, I'm glad that it works well for you. I have found the moves involving ricocething more difficult on the BaliYo and attributed this to the lighter and shorter handles than the ones I'm used to on a bali. Of course it is also quite possible that it has more to do with my so-so bali skills :o ...

Hi spyderHS08,

Yes, it is worth it. It functions as a pen and gives you lots of flipping fun. IMHO it is not the best tool to learn bali manipulation because it flips quite differently, but it is fun on its own right. I bought mine (probably one of the firsts in Hungary :D ) from baliyo.com and had ...

Mine sticks to the blue handle occasionally. One strong wrist flick loosens it up and than it's good for one playing (eh, practicing... :) session. Back in my pocket it sticks again. I don't mind, it is such a nice toy.

Hi David,

That sounds like a very serious commitment, I wish you all the bests for it! I voted for the Para on the following basis:
(i) there is little use in testing disco'd models IMHO
(ii) the Harpy is too specialized for a 6-month EDC test, the UKPK does not have a lock
(iii) I really like the ...

The Para comes standard tip-down with a normal clip. The wire clip is a custom mod, you can read about it here:

There are tons of Para threads on this site, browse them and feel the addiction growing on you :D
