Ok....interesting. Looking more closely mine is #446. It has a silver clip, is G-2, has the Design by and the Wayne Goddard signature etched/engraved in the blade. I bought this new from the original Ironstone in Golden.

Regarding the Large Goddards with the black micarta handles... I've read that there were pocket clip differences... anyone able to clarify this for me? Also, I've heard that the large ones came in pouches instead of a box - what does that pouch look like? Did it have Spyderco or anything else ...

Is it generally the case that most serve for fairly short terms in the US military? I've been a little bit surprised by the number of posters serving 2-5 years but not many serving longer.
