Have you got one of these Arend? http://www.armesbastille.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_27_40&products_id=46 I didn't know ATS55 to be prone to rust. I like the blade profile and splinter picking tip but somehow other stuff keeps getting priority :( . I also think the smaller size/hole might be ...

David, I have a trusty old Native 3. Just beat the **** out of that zdp d4 . Then after a couple of years use and lots of maybe not so good sharpening sessions on that nasty zdp :o , you still can send it in for a health treatment for the blade. That's just the think i did with my native 3. At that ...

Jason, I've got a Nitecore D10 and i love it. Very nice quality at decend prize. You might look at this comparison review on candlepower; http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=209470 If you choose for Fenix the New LD10 should have a slightly brighter output then the former L1D. LD10 ...

Very nice Tony. And that for a road-kill giraffe's...lol. Looks a bit like mammoth bone but less expensive i bet.

Ian these threaded aluminum studs normally come with teklocks and not separate. http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=41_56&products_id=936 1.85 dollar a set .10+ 1.49 with counterscrew and rubber ring; rather expensive. You might check out local custom knifemakers or use flat hea...

Your thoughts are always appreciated Doc.
I think it also makes a great outdoor and rugged EDC. Carry is great for such a big folder.

It's mostly tip up carry for me. I would not mind some extra jimping on the spine. On the FRN version : Full linered version might make the knife a bit off balanced; handle heavy . I would like to keep the weight down. (94 grams on the CF one is just fine with me.) I would rather go the E4/D4 direkt...

Thnx Paul,

Yes let's wait for the Boss to chime in.
I also like how the recoil area is compared to the Native 3.
(hope you don't mind me using your picture for this)

Sometimes i carry my D4W in my backpocket if R/L FP are loaded with other stuff. The wave prevents the knife a bit from dragging itself out of pocket sitting down.

Next to that i really like subcoms and Hyper from CLB for backpocket because they have thin handle's. Less bulky when sitting down.

Oh Boy that looks VERY nice!!! Thanks for the pictures Paul; nice foliage background. I like the way the swedge is moderated/refined compared to the previous models. It looks great. I wonder about the jimping on the back of the blade? On the recoil it looks simular to Caly3 . Will it have jimping on...

Gac Boker will bring out a Boker/Bob Dozier collaboration for his Arkansas Traveler soon: Just under 3 inch 7.3 cm AUS 8 in either Olivewood or Walnut Scale. 3,2mm thick full tang blade. Would set you back under 50 bucks. I think i'll pick up one in Walnut : I also like Tom Krein's wharnie and Mini ...

You might try adding glow powder to a transperant epoxy:

I've seen gloinc.com sells this powder stuff. I have no experience with the stuff and the co.

The Extreme uses a single 3.0V cr123 or a 3.7V 16340 Li-ion (rechargeable cr123 often called a R123) and should be about 190 Lumen with either of these two. The 14500 is an AA sized Li-ion that fits the Nitecore D10 an is correctly 3.7V like all Li-ions. This will not fit the Extreme. The D10 is br...

Doc,

I agree,

We tend to get nervous when people assault us... Especially if not expected.... I rather take a ronin, streetbeat , fb04 or clb mpt in the small of back next to regular edc folder to be safe. :D

Robert,

the extreme got a 190 lumen output from a single cell..
Am i correct.. And is the cell CR123A .?

I think i settle for the D instead concidering the runtime on low....
