The saber ground Endura is easily one of my all time favorite blades. I would love to see one in CPM M4, with some black g10.

What's so bad about it? I fail to understand what the problem is. When you have 2mm of steel, bending is preferable to breaking under high stress. The SB is plenty hard.

You do know that japanese smiths spent a few hundred years trying to get a hard edge and a flexible back into one blade, right ...

As tap78 noted, blades clad with steels like 420j1 have significantly lower strength, when the cross section gets small in the tip it is not going to be difficult to bend them.

This is kinda what I had figured, I did email Spyderco and they told me to send it in and the could rockwell test it to ...

So yesterday afternoon I decided to trim down that plastic discharge guard on my lawnmower. It was pretty thick plastic but nothing that gave me reason to second guess the durability of my SB Endura. After I got done trimming it down I was really pleased because the SB Endura had performed great ...

Here is my poor old native. The tip got reground handle now matches the opening hole and I added some grooves at the back underside of the handle.

That is awesome, great work on the overall visual ascetics of the knife.

I have to agree with you on this one. I have beat the snot out of my FRN native and it just seems to smile. While at times I do enjoy the G10 models I still find that I go back to my FRN knives. It has a good grip and I don't have to worry about screwing it up.

Grand Prairie show them in stock, and they are great people to do business with. I have been buying knives from them almost exclusively for about six years. Every time that I have been in their store they have been overly nice and willing to answer any questions that I had. :cool:

I have not read Bagwell's book but I can say from experience 154CM is an excellent steel. I have owned several benchmades made from it and one spyderco with it. On all of them I have had no trouble sharpening them or have they chipped out. The way I see it there are to many custom knife makers using ...

Thanks guys for your help. I will more than likely just keep it the way that it is I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed the same thing. It is one of those things where I don't really notice it all that much but I know that it is still there.

I got my first endura a few weeks ago and really do love the design and overall feel of the knife. But one of the things that has bothered me is that no matter how much I tighten or loosen the pivot I still have vertical blade play. Not alot but enough to feel it push up when I first start to cut ...

I knew it was just a matter of time until it happened... the tip of my native broke off :mad: I was in the process of using it in the kitchen tonight and knocked it off the counter onto the floor and broke off about an 1/8" of the tip. I am left scratching my head since it fell on a linoleum floor ...
