P.S.
No, I do not stutter. I had some sort of error that made me think the message hadn't been posted.

Hello knife boy,

I prefer a plain edge. Mostly for the ease of resharpening. I enjoy the motion of resharpening a plain edge better than serrated. So much so I resharpened my ladybug until it was a plain edge.

Serrated can cause problems if there's a dull spot, like if you hit a staple in a ...

The laws do vary. Arizona used to have the easy to follow rule of 4" blade length for folding knives, then it got changes to "pocket knife", with no mention of blade length. I suppose if it has a pocket clip on it that makes it a pocket knife, but I do not want to be the test case on a Military or ...

Cerulean is right about what the Arizona Statute says ... anything but a pocket knife... What is and isn't a pocket knife is the question. My GUESS is it is determined by case law, court cases, which means it can change.

sharpeners

A question for Spyderco,

I have an outdoor profiler (702MF) and pocket stone (305). The pocket stone is medium grit, but it feels coarser than my medium profiler stone. Is it coarser, or does it just need a little breaking in?

Sorry about the confusion. I am not a rescue worker, I just want the knife.

You make excellent knives. Keep up the good work!

It varies from state to state, and from country to country, and then if you go onto a federal reservation there are more rules, but generally speaking you can carry a 3" blade just about anywhere. Let me put it another way, you can carry a 3" in more places than a 4".

Forgive me for piggybacking on your post, but I too find sharpening a serrated blade a new and challanging experience.
I grew up thinking serrated blades were for people wo didn't know how to sharpen knives. I finally broke down and bought a Ladybug II.
I use a technique I came up with on my own. I ...

Rescue Jr.

Forgive my forwardness, but I have a few thoughts on the Rescue Jr. I wish to pass on to Sal, and this seemed the way.

I checked the forum and see a plain edge Rescue was added to your line up. How about a plain edge Rescue Jr.?

Also, where I work I have a 3" rule on blade length. The Rescue Jr ...

A follow-up. The ARS says it is misconduct to carry anything concealed except a "pocket knife" unless you have a CCW. ARS does not spell out what is a pocket knife. The 4" rule that I was so sure about might be from court rulings. I suppose one could argue that if it has a pocket clip, its a pocket ...

Check out www.azleg.state.az.us for Arizona laws.
Any length blade is legal in AZ, but if it's a folding knife, locking or not, and has a blade longer than 4", and its concealed, its carrying a concealed weapon. The police model has a 4&1/8 inch blade. If you have a CCW permit, you are covered. I ...

I have heard of people not being allowed to carry a nailfile onto an airplane. Seems how much steel you can carry on board is subject to change depending on how nervous the airlines are. A Delica might be OK by FAA rules, but the individual airlines could have stricter rules.
P.S. Metal detectors ...
