Thanks! I'll call Mike. IMHO, a Spyderco blade - regardless of size - should NOT wobble.

Mini-Police necklace

Bought my wife a Mini-Police necklace knife yesterday. Got it home and noticed quite a bit of side-to-side wobble in the blade when locked open. Took it back today, but all three they had left had the same wobble. Anything I can do about it? (I own a nice ball-peen hammer!) I know it's only a bauble...

No argument from me, earthworm. I often do the same thing. Getting into an argument with these security nimrods (and perhaps losing a good knife) is not worth the trouble just to make a point.

Love That Toad!

Less than 5 minutes ago I spoke on the telephone to Mr. D'Alton Holder, designer of the Spyderco "Toad". He graciously tokk the time to answer (with some amusement) my questions about his blade signature. Mr. Holder said he has used a SMALL "h" in his last name on the blade signa...

What's in a name, Toad?

Received my "Toad" about a week ago (only my third Spydie of MANY to come!) As a charter member of the "What kind of a name is THAT?" Club, I have a question: why does the "signature" on the blade say "D' holder" (with a SMALL letter "h&quot<img src=&...

Thanks, anyman! I keep forgetting that <nudge, nudge, wink, wink> doesn't always come across as intended! When I saw the price tag I almost laughed. Isn't $149.99 about $20 higher than M.R.S.P.? I read another post recently regarding someone's experience with The Remington Store. Maybe they should stic...

What a bargain!

Was in a Remington Store at the mall yesterday (while my daughter was shopping for a prom dress). They're selling Spyderco Police models for $149.99! Hurry, before they're all gone! <G>

Thanks, Joe, for the tip about the DMT hone placed at the same angle as the Tri-Angle stones. I'm going to go out this afternoon to buy one!

MaNcEr, please don't let my experience dissuade you from buying the Sharpmaker. The thinking behind it makes ABSOLUTE sense. I certainly haven't given up on mine - I believe it is the original angle on the knife that is giving me a problem. And watch the video - it is superb! One of the best "i...

Thanks for the advice everyone. I have a feeling it is the angle of the original edge that is creating the problem for me. I'll keep trying.

Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Novice

Although I have started collecting knives on a serious level only recently, I have always been able to create a decent edge on a stone. A couple of days ago I purchased a Tri-Angle Sharpmaker (on recommendation of several senior BladeForums members, and because the simplicity of the "vertical h...
