Long Live Factory Seconds! -> Re: 2026 Forum Calendar Contest!

This year I am posting a Spyderco Shaman DLC serrated edge which was gifted to me by my son who attended the factory seconds sale in Golden in 2023.

I was saddle hunting that day, and we spent over an hour as I hung from a tree and we traded pictures while I recommended which knives to keep and ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence

Hi holokai, and thanks for the feedback. I found that serrations did a better job cutting through the hide and the tendons, and the small teeth on the serrations make the membrane between the hide and the rest of the body “jump” as you peel it back. The only thing that I have found different when ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence

Hi Sal, thanks for the reply - that was quick! It is the Moran drop point. I picked it up at the factory while talking to your shipping manager a couple of years ago - very nice guy BTW, and very knowledgeable. Before I purchased the Temperance, I carried the Moran under the bino harness just as ...

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence

All,
I wanted to offer a field report on the CRU-WEAR Lightweight Temperance knife which I used to process a deer - I tried to keep the gore at a minimum, the goal here is to show you that this is a great knife design.

I saddle hunt public land with a traditional recurve bow. Baiting is not ...

For me, it is the Para 2 CPM S35VN - shown here with the WolfSpyder, another unique collaboration from Spyderco. Both knives were enjoying a sunny day at Crater Lake, OR. Thank you Spyderco!

PARA MILITARY® 2 SALT® BLACK G-10 CPM MAGNACUT® BLACK BLADE

Hello and thank you for the opportunity to post for the 2025 Forum Calendar Contest.

My family and I visit the Oregon Coast every year, and I have been waiting for a long time to carry a Paramilitary that can be used in the ocean and this ...

Re: Experience with Spyderco's CBN benchstone?

Hi dull&blunt,
I use the CBN benchstone to sharpen archery broadheads, especially single beveled ones like the Grizzly broadheads. I use the KME Self Aligning Broadhead Sharpener, and the benchstone offers a large and very flat surface that handles wide cutting surfaces (much better than using sand ...

Re: SPY27 PM2 Colorado Edition

So far so good, I have cut mostly food with it. The real test will be skinning and processing a hog with it. As a side note, just getting the colors on the blade is quite an achievement, and I have not seen much discussion about how it is done. The whole knife is really a testament to what can be ...

Re: SPY27 PM2 Colorado Edition

All,
I have been a forum member for a long time, and I do not post very often, but I wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to the Spyderco team. I visited the Golden CO store back in October of 2021, and met the nicest long-term Spyderco employee that works in shipping and receiving. We ...

Re: 2020 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

I took this picture at Dinosaur Valley State park during one of our rare cold winter days. The creeks freeze there on occasion, and the surface of the moving water gets recorded as "waves" on the bottom of the ice. With me that day was my best hiking companion, the Paramilitary 2 Earth Brown, and ...
