After some resizing, and filtering I managed to get my entry to a size which meets the stated requirements. So my entry is this one - a C94GPDK - DK Penknife :

I can either provide the original picture with 2816 x 2112 pixels (~ 11" x 8.5" @ 250 dpi ...

minimum 8-1/2 X 11" 300 dpi format

That means at least 3300 x 2550 pixel which are a little more than 8 Megapixels and that means I can stop to worry which picture to choose. :(

My old Canon is only capable of 2816 x 2112 pixels (6MP) which would equal ~250 dpi at 8.5 x 11 inches :(

Donut, that depends where I look at it. If I take the knife outside on a sunny day like the one I took the pics, the colours are very close to my picture. Indoors they look duller and not so vibrant. IMO ...

Actually it's the other way round :) I had to reduce the saturation a little bit as I was shooting in bright sunlight with my light-tent. The bright light made the colors look really vibrant and my camera also tends to over-saturate a bit when shooting at good weather...

I dont understand who is their primary 'target' for these 'products' - me as an afi, I would never want to carry something like this, as its not the real thing, not only legal wise, but more important, performance wise.

We can do one thing, to avoid buying this stuff and educate all eventual ...

The screws aint the same, original has visible torx heads, the fake one has more of an hex, even I think those will be chinese torx heads as well. The frame bar goes too close the lanyard hole on the fake, I doubt the original looks like these.

I only hope that they took an original for taking pictures of it. I honestly can't spot something that gives the last one away as a fake :mad: I see bad times coming up for collectors who buy pre-owned Spydies when copies like that hit the market in masses...

I myself asked for a product guide in December and I waited till February before I asked again. Unfortunately I received no product guide from Spyderco so far :o

...doing it on a double bolstered knife with arced bolsters would require the scales be put in place before the bolsters at the time the knife is being assembled as there would be no way to slide the scales under the angled edge of the bolsters.
