they're catalogue ios full of the cheaper somewtimes fantasy stuff that the majority of people like. They're show room does stock plenty of higher end knives including a pretty decent spyderco lineup. I enjoy the heck out of going to the show room it's a pilgrimmage I make about every other year ...

Picture the knife blade as if you are looking at it down the edge from the handle to the tip. There is an imaginary line from the center of the spine up through the edge. thanks for the tips guys, I was under the impression that if you matched the Ep stone to the factory angle of the edge, then the EP would hit the entire edge along the entire length.

As for why I was rotating the blade, it's because if i didn't the Ep stone would hit the blade table. I quick back ...

Native for me, I'd always heard of spyderco and the native was cheap enough to open the door for me, that was way back in 2005 and as has been said before "it was all downhill from there"

It might be sac-religous but I very much prefer thumbstuds over the spydie hole.

I know it's their trademark so there's no possibility of it going away but I think you could slim down a lot of their knives (a la Para 2) by utilizing thumb studs or even a smaller spydie hole.

So as I said I am a sharpening rookie. So this afternoon I put the sharpmaker down and tried my hand at stropping to see if that would help. I stropped on a piece of cardboard with some mothers mag and aluminum polish on it (it's all I have) and now the entire edge is back to hair popping sharp ...

My options right now are a Lansky system, the sharpmaker, and plenty of cardboard to strop on. I seem to be getting somewhat decent results using just the 30 degree setting on the sharpmaker but nowhere near what it had from the factory. Would it be beneficial to use the lansky to take the bevel ...
