Very nice collection, Peter. That is the first time I have seen that many together and it gives excellent perspective to the actual sizes and shapes of the knives compared to their counterparts. Thanks for the great photo!

WOW Zen, I think you just revolutionized my photographic life. I never thought to check on a macro setting....just figured I needed a nicer camera.
Here are two (better) shots. I just shot them at my desk, but I think you can see the little guy in question. Thanks again for the macro recommendation ...

New Kopa arrived! Pics and a small problem

Hi guys. Well, I got a pretty good deal on a gold pearl Kopa and after a few days of patient waiting it arrived at the doorstep last night. As I unpacked the box and slid open the Spydie box I was really surprised by the size of the Kopa. All of the pics I've seen gave me the impression it was a bit ...

I saw that come up on ebay and was bummed as it looks suspiciously like the knife I purchased from the Aussie. Although, the photos on the current listing are bad enough that it's hard to tell if they are definitely related. I did ask Bram Frank for any thoughts he might have over on Bladeforums, so ...

CF would not be bad, but I would prefer going with the new etched Dragonfly....ZDP-189 would just be icing. :D

Thanks JSmith. I, too, would vote for the PE Textured Dragonfly. Of the 2007 knives I've seen, that is the one I am most looking forward to. I would love to see it as the forum knife.

I'm fairly new to the forums and I would love to know how one goes about getting a 2007 forum knife. Are there certain qualifications, a sign-up,etc.? Thanks.

You can learn a ton by searching the forum and reading the Ayoob threads (lots of great pics too). Here is the link to a recent thread about the impact collector numbers has on value http://spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26207 . Thanks for sharing the pic of your knife.

I don't know, this will be my one and only knife so i want it to be something nice and solid. Which is why I am still torn between the FRN D4/SS Robin/SS Navigator/SS Dragonfly (I'm thinking less the dragonfly since it's ATS55... is that even a good reason?).

Hey Shifty--
I got this reverse S in the mail today.
I didn't realize it was so small--kind of a nice surprise.
I've been playing with it and love it. The ergos are great and the trick lock is a blast.
Just a very cool little knife. Reminds me of a funky little cousin of the Dragonfly.

And Thank ...

Kristi,
Glad the show went well. Thank you for looking into the Gunting for me. With your mention of the numerous prototypes and some with a compression lock on the bottom, I am in hopes that it is indeed a prototype. Is there any way to find out for sure? Or to find out anything further about the ...

WOW! Thanks Jurphaas. Just checked it out in the catalog. Beautiful. The Dragonfly was the first :spyder: I bought and it has been in or on one pocket nearly every day for eight years. Can't wait to give my FRN SE a nice Etched Stainless PE brother. Would love to know when these will be available.

Thanks for the responses. I am not a collector...I like to use the knives I have. But I have thought about buying a couple of very low numbered knives that I've seen on occasion as potential investments. Like you said, a number is just a number, but when it comes to a low :spyder: number I wondered ...

Are lower Collecter Numbers considered more collectible?

I occasionally see some pretty low Collecter Numbers on different Spydies that are for sale and it got me thinking...is there something inherently more collectible about the very low numbers? Are there people who seek out low production numbers? Or is it just basically just a cool bonus to get a ...

I have to agree. The turquoise set in those mirror polished bolsters is amazing. That is one elegant looking knife. Thanks for the pics, Wouter!
