No problems at all with the tip. It might be a bit delicate if you ever try prying with it, but you shouldn't really be doing that with any pocket knife. I've even used my cricket on some hard jobs, the hardest probably was ...

The benefit to an unsealed box is that it allows people to experience the knife in their hands before the purchase. It lets them see if the handle fits their hand, if the blade is what they expected, if the lock is easy for them to use, and even lets them inspect the knife for any problems.

I also like the lesser hook, but not from a SD standpoint. I think it will be much better for utility without the deep hook, and far less worry about breaking the tip.

Ya know, I had to check, and there are 7506 members on this forum as of today, so discounting the fact that the announcement was public and the knives available to everyone, 300 was only enough for about 4% of the forum if everyone just stuck to the "one per registration" rule.
