LOL Jay,

Your post inspired me to do the same from my location:

Google Maps directions from Sydney, NSW, AU to Golden, CO, USA via car method:
Driving directions to Golden, CO, USA
23,672 km – about 55 days 7 hours

Image

I love the Kayak to Japan over the Pacific Ocean for 5404 km  comment by Google... then another kayak trip from Japan for 6243 km to Hawaii, then again kayak from Hawaii for 4436 km to Washington :D

So will I be the most hated guy in this thread when I say I live just 45 minutes away?

I'm planning on making it this year. I don't have anything else planned for that weekend, I have a tent, and my car will be in great driving condition for the 10 hour drive.

Hooray!

Well, sorta along those lines, if anyone going to the sale is willing to shop for some knives for me please PM me. I'll be happy to limit my insatiable desires to just a few models so as not to inconvenience my fellow knut too greatly. Thanks.

Hey Brad, does this mean that I should plan on getting there the evening before? Boy, oh boy. This competition to be first in line is verging on the ridiculous. Maybe I'll just shot for the top 10.

13 hours 52 minutes for me from Dallas. But the more you "buy" the more you "save", right? I would just have to buy enough knives that the savings would surpass what I'd spend on gas! Good thing I have a pickup, just fill up the back with knives, right? :)

Much as I would really, really like to go, I have to be realistic and say the odds of me actually making the trip are pretty slim. I could probably buy quite a few knives outright just for the cost of gas up-and-back plus a hotel :) . 896 miles each way, let's see, around $275 in gas, might be cheaper to fly LOL. I guess it's just wishful thinking to say I might make it up there.

Hi
JR and Tricod, I', in Bennett Co been to the last few sales, last yr I spent a ton of money got there at 7 am and was 10th in line, going a little earlier this time. I am not buying as much this time though. I got my eye on a few knives if they have them there. Last's year I didnt get all the ones I wanted and bought some I didn't want, but they were too good a buy to pass us. Got really nice kitchen knives and a surfire rechargable lite for 1/2 price.
I will see ya all there

Jack, sounds like I might have been right next to ya last year and didnt know it. It seems 7-730 is when people start to show. I'm only going for one knife this year, everything else I get will be for someone else.

Aw well...it was worth a shot... maybe I will have to ask my friend in CO if he could be persuaded to attend.
