Re: Spyderco Viking Neck Knife?

Spyderco could just keep it traditional and punch a small hole just below the spine, but I figure someone could come up with a spin that honors the traditional design but makes it, well, uniquely Spydie. (Leaf-shaped blade, anyone?) Producing it in a good stainless (LC200N, cough cough) would ...

Spyderco Viking Neck Knife?

Has Spyderco ever considered making a Spydie version of the Viking neck knife (or sometimes called 'finger knife')?

For those who don't know what it is, it's a very small fixed blade, usually a 4.5–5 cm (about 1.75"–2") drop point or upswept point with a lot of belly to extend the cutting edge. The ...

Re: Ark--new steel in the future?

So, no new steel for the Ark, I take it? Seems like a good model for it, esp to tweak it from SD mainly to EDC mainly + SD 'on call.'

Re: Bill Moran with new steel?

Moran with HAP-40 laminate would seal the deal for me. Cru-Wear or K390 would also make a lot of sense.

Upgraded stainless would be interesting, too. I love LC200N, although I'm not sure it needs to be here, since the Moran isn't a 'water knife' in particular. But CPM [fill in latest high-end wear ...

Re: If you can only have one Delica...

DLT Cruwear--OD green FRN with black blade and hardware.

#2 would be the orange HAP40.

Love love love both. And for EDC, no matter what else I buy, the Delica is the model I keep returning to. Kinda went from 'outdated' to 'timeless' for me.

Ark--new steel in the future?

Are there any plans to issue the Ark in a new steel? (I would love to see it in LC200N, but other steels could be attractive, too.) I find its design very EDC-friendly and utilitarian, but its H-1 leaves a lot to be desired. I'd pick up another in a heartbeat with a more wear-resistant steel.

If ...

Well, I'm glad someone appreciates a good fantasy <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

Carlos,

You bring up a good point -- that technological development is inextricable from social-political and legal (and, I would add, economic) forces. But I am less convinced of the long-term ...

Happy holidays all,

My own feeling is that, excepting the laser idea, these developments discussed so far will be tried and tested in the next ten-twenty years. *One hundred years* from now is a different ball of wax altogether. Here goes my sci-fi speculation.

In the year 2100, I imagine the ...

Lots of freebees here, indeed, Sal!

Thanks to you and the whole Spyderco crew for them all, and more.

Best wishes and blessings for the rest of this year, and the next --

Glen

Did you give or receive a Spydie this holiday?

Happy holidays all,

Nice to see this forum here -- this is my 2nd post, following the one in the holiday give-away thread.

I feel a little grinch-like for wanting a freebee as my first post here, so I just want to note that I gave two Spydies this season. One was a 204 Sharpmaker I gave to my ...
