Anytime you put Cobalt in a steel in proper proportions, it goes from good to excellent in my eyes.

The reason I don't like the compression lock is because I have owned about 10 of them and every single one of them has been sloppy and had blade play when locked up. Try the Tasman first, in my opinion. The Spyderhawk is a monstrous knife, which while it has it's uses, takes up a lot of pocket space. Generally, I prefer the uncaged ball lock.

However, in particularly cold and/or wet weather, the caged ball lock would be much easier to use.

That being said, I'd still prefer the uncaged.

After 2 or so years of use, though admittedly not as much as I used to, my Tasman holds it's edge noticeably longer. I have no solid data to back up my experience however.

I agree, textured and anodized Ti, I'd go with a nice gold color.

The Tenacious is extremely well made, regardless of it's price point. It's an inexpensive liner lock, and yet I actually trust the lock, which is saying a lot because I typically dislike linerlocks.
