So what you're saying is, this forum needs more of my antics to keep people in good humor.

I'll have to stop by more often, been missing this forum anyway.

Anytime you put Cobalt in a steel in proper proportions, it goes from good to excellent in my eyes.

The reason I don't like the compression lock is because I have owned about 10 of them and every single one of them has been sloppy and had blade play when locked up. They also do not hold the blade in the closed position very well and I have almost cut myself a few times on a partially open compres...

Try the Tasman first, in my opinion. The Spyderhawk is a monstrous knife, which while it has it's uses, takes up a lot of pocket space. Unless you plan on dedicating one pocket to the Spyderhawk, the Tasman will melt away in your pocket a lot easier. Not to mention as others have mentioned, hawkbill...

Favorite Steel: VG-10 is my personal favorite, 154CM is the second choice. That's not to say I don't care for other steels, as they're all excellent. I have just had good experiences with the above steels. Handle material: G-10 Grind: High hollow grind. Blade shape: I can't say I have a preference ...

Jim if it makes you feel better, I dropped my cell phone in a bowl of cereal one time, while I was talking on it. The person on the other hand never let me live it down.

Generally, I prefer the uncaged ball lock.

However, in particularly cold and/or wet weather, the caged ball lock would be much easier to use.

That being said, I'd still prefer the uncaged.

Loctite is usually sufficient to prevent the loosening of those pivot screws. Depending on how much use you expect to get out of your Bali, blue should be perfectly acceptable. If you find yourself walking around the house at all hours of the day, with a background soundtrack of clicking balisong no...

After 2 or so years of use, though admittedly not as much as I used to, my Tasman holds it's edge noticeably longer. I have no solid data to back up my experience however.

It looks like it's been through a cement mixer, but still going strong

just a thought
I agree, textured and anodized Ti, I'd go with a nice gold color.

I'll skip the MOP, make it Ironwood for me, I still have some sitting around the house I haven't used yet :p

Persian with bolsters made of Ed's spyder mosaic damascus. ;) and black mother of pearl handles.

That knife is elegance embodied, putting G-10 on the Persian would be like drawing the Mona Lisa in crayon.

The Tenacious is extremely well made, regardless of it's price point. It's an inexpensive liner lock, and yet I actually trust the lock, which is saying a lot because I typically dislike linerlocks.

As far as I know, the VG-10 blades which Spyderco uses are solid, not laminated. As far as corrosion goes, it all depends on the climate. If you're inland, away from water, and in a relatively dry climate, you can hose the blade down every 5 minutes and it probably still won't rust. On the other han...

Depends on their attitude. If they're pushy and obnoxious, I tell them to hold on while I get a pen and paper to take notes, and then leave the phone off the hook until they hang up. On the other hand, if they're polite and pleasant, and don't try to push me, I'll just say no thank you, but ask for ...
