I had a very similar experience with a C-Class Mercedes Benz. Turned out to be bad contact with fuel pump relay and its socket. I just pulled the bugger out and plugged it back in again a few times. Problem solved !

I now keep a spare relay in the glove box, but have not needed it yet. Sort of an ...

1 cup of Bran Flakes (need the roughage)
1 chopped banana (need the Potassium)
3 sweetener tablets, crushed (need the sweet taste)
1 cup skim milk (need the moisture, but can do without the fat and unavoidable pus ! (many cows have infective mastitis) )

Mix this lot up and microwave for 2 minutes ...

I seem to remember Sal saying that a glass cutting board would not blunten a serrated blade unduly, as the tips of the serrations take the strain, leaving the cutting edges untouched. I have mixed feelings about this, but agree totally that that glass is the easiest substance to sanitise.

In junior school we did woodwork. Before sawing through a plank, we would cut a "saw kerf" with a "striking knife", to guide the start of the saw cut. This knife had a short double-edged blade at one end and long spike at the other. I never did figure out the true use of the spike !

I quite agree with you. Unfortunately most people who own dogs are not nearly as conscientious as you are. Thus the authorities have to enact laws placing restrictions on dogs.

Here, there are similar laws, but they are seldom, if ever, enforced. This is due to the Police being understaffed ...

Our kitchen has a wooden block with Wilkinson Sword knives. Some time ago they were joined by a Santoku. The block had to be modified to accomodate the width of the Santoku. Now the others see very little cutting time !

I keep a wary eye on this knife. No dishwashing : no lying on the metal sink ...

I have a Ti/SE. Not by choice, though. I would have liked the PE, but none were available, so a SE had to do. But it is still a GREAT knife. As JD said above, the Ti model is completely different to the SE one.

I see that the Ti/SE ATR is still available at NGK for $208 !

I just received a TerraLUX LED replacement for my 3 D-cell Mag-Lite from the USA. It fits exactly where the old bulb was. And what a difference ! The light output is now white instead of yellow, and the beam is still adjustable as before.

It is supposed to give about 80 Lumens, and last for 100 000 ...
