Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

The Dyad ? I had to check twice because I thought I was mistaking it for something else. :D I'm really sorry but I don't get the joke ... There wasn't one, I put smiley so people relax a little. You're the first person I read asking for it to come back. So much that I thought you were speaking abou...

Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned, that if you want something bad enough and have the means to do so, just buy it. I work in the Police and got a bad injury on-duty. I didn't pay for the surgery, but the reeducation was on me. So yeah, I missed out on the Bowie back then since I couldn't afford the N...

Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

Opinion for opinion, I would never buy an Slysz Bowie. I don't like metal handles, in general, and aesthetically neither the blade nor the handle of the SB are particularly attractive to me. But I would give a month of my pay for Spyderco to bring either Dyad (or both) back to life. Or to launch a ...

Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

To me personally, the choice of words is not ideal if your goal is to respectfully request the return of a model that had its day. That is also probably why you were immediately met with such dismissiveness. My advice would be to take a look at the similar threads like the C-60 Ayoob campaign, whic...

Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

I'm still at work (19 hours straight, barely slept) but I'll adress the concern regarding my tone and overall intent because I didn't want to come across as confrontational. I have nothing but huge respect for Sal, his vision and his work. I'm disapponted by the dismissive nature of some comment tho...

Re: As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

So you think it's the "best-designed knife ever made" but you've never actually had one? Scalpers are annoying but they only exist because buyers exist. That's not Spyderco's problem to solve. In fact it is the people who want this knife so badly who need to solve their own problem. Payin...

As a fan, it's sad Spyderco isn't adressing the slysz bowie problem.

I've been a Spyderco fan for as long as I've carried a knife on me. I only buy my knives from three brands and Spyderco is among them. Para-2, Dragonfly, Delica... I've supported Spyderco for years, even bought Delicas for at least 7 people. My own wife is carrying a Dragonfly around and I always ma...

Re: Spyderco Techno 2 owners, I need a precise measurement.

Can't help on the measurement, as I don't own a Techno 2, but I would call that portion of the handle the grip area. The grip area is a very nice suggestion. I'd go for it. I think the "grip area" is way more important than the handle lenght and it's often the latest that is featured on k...

Spyderco Techno 2 owners, I need a precise measurement.

Hi all, First, I wish you all a happy new year. :D I need a precise measurement about the Spyderco Techno 2. I don't have the chance to test it for myself before I pull the trigger. Here's a pic of the measurement I need : https://imgur.com/DHycwQt.jpg I need it in mm (milimeter) and as precise as p...

Mon amour chéri ça me brise le coeur de te voir comme ça. Envoie-moi ton couteau ma petite colombe et je le réparerai pour toi.
Ahahah I would gladly do so, but the shipping fees will be too high I guess (australia ?). I need to find someone in Europe.

Re: Spyderco Chaparral titanium help (put the knife back together)

Are you sure you have not swapped the pins? Which pins ? Where are you located bud? Worst case send it to Golden and they will put it back together for you but contact them for conditions. If your near me here in Australia you are welcome to send it to me and I’ll put it back together for you. I li...

Re: Spyderco Chaparral titanium help (put the knife back together)

I have taken a Chap apart quite a few times. It is a uniquely constructed knife but no harder than any other back lock. It does have a stop pin. It is the pin that goes through the blade tang which then rides in the semicircle channels in the liners. It is called an internal stop pin and is in my o...

Re: Is an Off-center Blade Really a Big Deal?

It doesn't bother me personally, I tend to be rough with my knife anyway, but I can understand it can bother people. There are really no reasons to buy 50$+ knife, we're doing it because we're knife enthousiasts.

Re: Spyderco Chaparral titanium help (put the knife back together)

Yeah, that's the video that gave me confidence to take the Chappie titanium apart, but unfortuantely, it's a very different construction, the pins are not the same.

Re: Spyderco Chaparral titanium help (put the knife back together)

Thank for your answer, but no, the titanium Chaparral doesn't have a stop pin. When the blade is fully opened, it just lay against the back-lock. I can't take a picture of my chappie right now, but here's an image. It's not the chappie, but it's similar in construction (without the stop pin though)....

Spyderco Chaparral titanium help (put the knife back together)

Hi, I'm a Spyderco Chapparal titanium owner and I like the knife. I was trying to do some maintenance on it since it was really dirty (I use it a lot) and the disassembly worked well. The re-assembly however was - and still is - awful. It's kind of surprising because it doesn't seem like the knife i...
