I agree the Japanese makers seem to be pricing their models out of the market. US made models with better fit and finish for marginally more are where to put your money.

Other 3 folders and a multitool. Large plain edge, pacific salt, mcbee and gerber center drive.

Or a backspacer that protrudes enough on one end for a lanyard hole.

I think it's the hole shape that takes the place of it.

Sjucaveman What i see in the Spyderco 2018 catalog the Axe is using D2 for it's blade steel.

This one is certainly 5160, I even took mine out to double check.

I don't care for the grip scales. Sweet pistol otherwise though.

The genzow hawk is 5160.

I use gerber exclusively as they have the best one handed opening pliers in my opinion.
