Re: Fillet Knife? Steel Types?

I fish mostly northern Minnesota walleye. 6 to 8 inch blades work best for me. When I'm wanting high flexibility in a quality blade it's the Whusthof 7" Ikon. For a ridged fillet knife I like the 6" Buck Cabela's Alaskan guide with S30V steel. For all around use on a budget Victorinox 7 an...

Re: K390 IS "The M4 Killer"

I know that the Manix 2 would be a perfect choice for K390 and I have my checkbook waiting on this, if it ever happens.

Been Very happy with the M4 Manix 2. K390 would be more of a good thing! Peel Ply Carbon Fiber would Suit my fancy! :)

Re: M4 Shaman Exclusive

M4 is my steel. Glad to see a Shaman in it. M4 is in my pocket every day. First thing I did on my Manix was swap to Black G10. Personally I just cant get over the Jade. Sure would be a class act with M4 in carbon fiber.

Re: Clear Knife Scales

Very nice looking Manix. Kind of gives it a mechanical or robotic type look. My manix knives are heavy use farm knives. These scales are not cut out for my manix role.

Re: 20 CV / M390 VS ZDP-189

Chromium content is be about the same on both 20CV and ZDP-189. I found it interesting several noted 20CV was a little more corrosion resistant then ZDP-189.

20 CV / M390 VS ZDP-189

20 CV / M390 VS ZDP-189 I've been happy with the performance of my M390 knives. Haven't tried ZDP-189 as of yet but am interested in a stretch with this steel. I'd be interested in info from hands on field performance between the 2 steels. ZDP-189 has gotten a rap for being a little more chippy. I'd...

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll

IMHO the standard lock on the manix 2 is all the lock I need. My favorite Spyderco platform. I used to carry a s30v manix . I put a set of black
G10 scales on a M4 manix as soon as they came out and its been in my pocket ever since.

Too close. You have much to be thankful for. My line of thinking would be something like the Lord is not threw with me yet. Glad you had a cool head and a sharp Spyderco!

O come on Black is beautiful! At least to us traditionalists. Give me black G10 or carbon fiber any day over flavor of the day colors! :)

Re: Native 5, Maxamet, and other thoughts

I just can't warm up to FRN. Got a G10 Maxamet PM3 as soon as I was able. I think a standard G10 Maxamet manix 2 would be fantastic. I also gave up on the Maxamet PM2.
