Re: Manix backlock

Native backlock is awesome also. Spyderco Just makes a great backlock, simple strong and smooth.

Manix backlock

I own about 40 Spydercos, lots of duplicates of the same models in sprints and exclusives. The Manix backlock is my current favorite. This is directed at Sal or any members here that know the answer in case this was previously discussed in another thread. Any consideration to a Manix XL backlock ...

Re: Pinned Para and Mili ?

FYI, the new Military is not "pinned" in the way you might be thinking it is. That is to say, it is not riveted like a Manix 2 Lighweight is "pinned", the stop pin is a solid machined piece that is captured between the scales/liners and is floating in place, whereas a typical "pinned construction ...

Pinned Para and Mili ?

When are we going to see the Para in the new CQI pinned version? and what about the base Mili in S30V?

Manix 2 backlock

How's this knife selling so far, Any chance of different blade steels and sprints ? I like mine a lot, really great action on it, one of the best backlock's I've handled.

Loving the Shaman, I'm ready for sprints! polished carbon fiber with S90V sounds great.

Re: Choils on Spyderco Knives: Ups and Downs?

I've gotten rid of all my knives with choils, save the Perrin Bowie. That one works for me. I've only got one left with a 50/50 choil, the Super Blue Stretch, and I've been planning to get rid of that. I've been using folding knives for 50 years and have never, ever nicked myself closing one, so I ...

Re: Choils on Spyderco Knives: Ups and Downs?

Hi Speekills,

Michael Janich designed the Yojimbo's so I'll see if he can answer you.

what about your design the Mili? and Eric's para and manix?

Both Eric and I are more about performance. The finger choil allows one to get close to the ...

Re: Choils on Spyderco Knives: Ups and Downs?

I don't know, but I'm betting ergonomics was a larger design consideration than finger safety for the PM2. Finger safety is an added (maybe even unintended) benefit of the choil. I didn't buy my first PM2 thinking of finger safety, but it was one of the first things I noticed. Before Spyderco I was ...

Re: Choils on Spyderco Knives: Ups and Downs?

I have a Question regarding this topic for Sal or anyone in the know. Was the 50/50 choil and the space behind the edge on the Yojimbo designed first and foremost as a safety and finger saver if the lock were to disengage during use. Or was it designed for the choked up grip and the safety benefit ...

Re: A Lightweight Paramilitary 2 would be cool and fun

How about the opposite also, a HD para 2 (heavy Duty), Same size overall, thicker G-10 like the Manix backlock, maybe thicker steel on the compression lock, same blade stock but less of a taper with a thicker stronger tip.

Got one and love it, action on the open is nice and smooth, backlock is easy to press and blade free drops, thicker scales feel really good for me, waiting for some sprints now.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread

Cant wait for this one, pre-ordered it. Compression lock, 50-50 choil, countured g10 scales, stronger tip then my para's, excited to get this in my paws, hope it does well so we can see sprints!
