No offense, but you'd probably get a better response if you qualified your expectations somewhat; how long is "long," how fast is "fast," and the like.

"Waved" Spydercos...

Does anybody know of anyone who does custom "waving?" I've seen waved Civilians, Matriarchs, Enduras, and the like, and it's really quite an interesting idea, though it's far beyond my admittedly inept metal-working abilities.

It's my favorite blade design. Something about the look and feel that really appeal to me.

Szabo-designed Spyder?

I just read that there's an upcoming collaboration between Laci Szabo and Spyderco. Does anyone know which of Laci's models is being considered for production? He's got some of the most interesting weapons available, IMO.

Sorry, I hadn't realized the title was cut off. The second knife was the Shabaria (the one with the really odd-shaped handle).

Also, is the Khalsa the one that kind of resembles the Gunting?

How many of you have experience with the Ayoob and the Shabaria?

Both are quite intriguing, but I was wondering if they were more studies in "arthouse" designs than actually functional tools. (Keep in mind that I've never handled either, so I'm not trying to raise trouble; just curious if they were discontinued for a reason, if you catch my drift. Proba...

Maybe it's just me, but I much prefer the brutally efficient look of G10 and Zytel than that of the more exotic materials. Better purchase/grip, too, IMO.

But hey, that's why there's chocolate and vanilla. And Rocky Road. That stuff is amazing.

I can't remember where, but I read that it's really dangerous to file G10. Apparently it's quite noxious if you inhale the shavings.

This is just a name I've used as an online alias for a few years. Well, actually, technically, The 2nd Saint, but that makes even less sense than the first nick. So, yeah, no real story, just some boring anecdote.

J Smith: Um, right. You can whittle with a knife. I don't really see that happening with a Glock. About the only non-weapon function I can think of is target-practice, and I still think that's borderline. (For the record, I have no problem with gun ownership, nor do I believe in most forms of gun co...

KOT: Icepicks...

Does anyone know if icepicks are legally considered knives, or are they in a class of their own? I'd love to be able to get a SWAT automatic icepick for my collection, but I know that automatic knives are illegal to import into Canada. But an icepick isn't really a knife, hence the question. Thanks ...

Spyderco knives in movies?

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Hannibal's G10 Harpy in Hannibal (duh), and Alonzo Harris' Police model in Training Day (at least, I think it was a Police. Would make sense, seeing as the guy was a police officer and all). Any others? (And for the record, this stems from incr...

The only Kershaw model that does/did anything for me is the Talon, and they're next to impossible to find nowadays. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
