I smoke, I like to smoke, I enjoy smoking and will continue to smoke. "My" only problem is that nagging voice saying I could get two $60 dollar knives or a nice $120 dollar knife every month if I didn't. But I enjoy it too much to quit.

Jediknight,
Yes it does have the bug inlaid. The handles are excellent and the bug is flat. There are just a few tooling marks in the backspring/lock but otherwise it is perfect.

Exotic Handles

I recently recieved a Santa Fe Pearl Kiwi thanx to an earlier post here on this forum and it sure is nice. I really enjoy a fine Gentlemen's Folder and would like to see Spyderco do a lot more with exotic and bone handles.

I've seen the SF rookie recently at a knife show. Just barley able to hold myself back from springing for it.. very nice. But now I'm glad I waited. Now comes the Kiwi which is what I really wanted. Does Santa Fe have their own website? A quick search didn't land much.

Dave,
I ended up with a stainless Kiwi from the same dealer. Wright Knife In La Mesa got some
miltec oil as well and a little fixed blade carry knife from a maker. All in all I thought it a good show, with good turnout.
Forging, grinding, and rope cutting seminars where excellent!

I recently bought a large micarta Goddard from Wayne and Phyllis at the 03 Blade show West in Ontario. I asked Wayne exactly what a wire edge was. He took the knife I was buying, and put a wire edge on it, made sure I understood, then sharpened it up before I took it. Phyllis is a crack up ...

Another Newbie

Hello List,

Another newbie here. Been an enthusiast for quite a while just getting around to the list. I own a Native III a Wayne Goddard, a bone Kiwi, and a mini Mariner. Like the clip/carry and pocket knives. Next purchase will probably be stainless Kiwi.
