Re: SpydieChef for EDC?

Works fine for EDC. knives with a big belly work good for me.

Food prep is cutting different things so there's no reason that won't translate to every day stuff.

Re: What is wrong with Spyderco customer service?

Sorry if I was one who seemed hostile. I was just being blunt. I also offered what useful advice I could. You came in saying you were upset, using lots of exclamation points and the thread title is inflammatory. You followed that up with passive aggressive comments. I think considering the tone you...

Re: What is wrong with Spyderco customer service?

Let's remember that English may not be the OPs first or even second language, so please make allowances for that. Every business in the 21 Century needs to be using a CRM package of some kind. Auto responses of "We have received your email..." are in fact useful. The customer knows the email made i...

Re: subway bowie!

I hate the fact that in California I can't carry a fixed blade longer than 2" concealed. I will definitely grab one of these but it's really irritating that I won't be able to carry it as a neck knife or a concealed belt carry. Ugh stupid knife laws. As a fellow resident of The Ridiculous State, I'...

Re: Shipping to Canada

For sure Warriors and Wonders or under their other name Blades Canada is solid. Got stuff from there in person or shipped multiple times. And if you compare the pricing to US folks like Blade HQ or DLT you'll be within a couple bucks and you'll get it faster with no customs lag. The only downside is...

Re: Shipping to Canada

Haven't ordered from DLT yet but I get a bunch of stuff from Blade HQ. The Rock Lobster from them is turning up here tomorrow. A couple boxes were opened and inspected but nothing lost or seized.

Right now they're more concerned about collecting tax and fees on everything coming in.

Re: Attempt at sharpening made edge worse

I would guess that most people suffer from holding a consistent angle and pressure when using bench stones. One of the best things about the Sharpmaker is how it transfers the natural cutting motion that you've already learned into a sharpening motion. So if you want to sharpen your knives right now...

Re: A Case To Be Made For The Dodo Model

OK so it's settled. Bigger Dodo with corrugated Ti slabs, front flipper and phantom lock. Make it so! I have even had a couple of threads over the years begging Spyderco to consider the possibility of a larger scale Dodo model. A larger scale Dodo with a blade about twice or 2.5 times the size of t...

Re: A Case To Be Made For The Dodo Model

Half inch longer blade and serrated would be rad. But it would need a new handle too I think, just not enough room for that big a blade in the current version.

Also weighs like 3x as much and I already have it.

*And more importantly it lacks a SE option.
Well the ARK isn't serrated anymore either.

I guess if someone wants a bigger or XL knife it's going to be heavier.

Re: Spyderco chef question

I'm 3+ years in on my original Spydiechef. Cut lots of food from chicken to fish to vegetables to pitting avocados and no scratches.

The only Stuff I have with visible scratches are the tool steel/carbon/SUS410 models.

Of course maybe I just need binoculars to get a better look.

Re: Sharpening Sprints and Exclusives

Every one of my sprints or exclusive I've sharpened, cut stuff with, got a patina and pocket nicks on. That's why I get them. They're good knives made better by an uncommon steel. The only anxiety I suffer is when I get a new tool steel about the best way to form a protective patina. Blade HQ, get t...

Re: Knifejoy Exclusive...Slysz Bowie??!!

I have made hard passes on a bunch of Embassy autos, and even a Bifold on eBay. Not worth the potential long term hassle.
