Edge retention
I don't use my folders as screwdriver/pry bars and anything at 63-64 is relatively tuff not tuff
I don't believe a folder is a kukri
Obviously a step up in edge retention for salts and the ability to run a thin edge
Seems like it would make a good stainless fixed blade

Re: Suggestion for slight improvement of Manix 2 LW
Have 3 Manix knives I carry IWB and bottom of pocket a lot Had 2 Manix open when drawing from IWB (not by choice) Will only carry in rear of pants pocket now Much prefer ergo's of Manix to PM2, Endura, Stretch etc. I stick with back locks any more for new purchases. (stay closed bias) If one rides t...

Re: Strongest Known Blade Lock for Spyderco Knives?
I have worn out the locks on several delicas that get opened and closed 10-30 times a day at work. I DON'T flick open i ride open. It takes 5ish years or so. One was replaced with a nice letter saying never again. Still worth it to me as it is the best tool for my needs. I have 20yo back locks that...

Re: Strongest Known Blade Lock for Spyderco Knives?
Well-made back locks have been proven they can remain functional and reliable, with reasonable care, over decades of use as someone's only locking knife, in some cases. Only time will tell if someone can EDC the same comp lock knife, for example, over decades, and have its lockup and detent remain n...

Re: Strongest Known Blade Lock for Spyderco Knives?
The far more likely event is debris, fail to open all the way or, disengaging the lock do to hand positioning..... The question is what happens then? I choose folders with built in hand protection. What kind of protection? Like a choil? Or ricasso like Endura series Rock Jumper has a hidden one tha...

Re: Endela or Straight Spine Stretch?
My two most carried besides FFG Delica. Stretch is a lock back PM2 Endela is a short Endura. Endela is a better blade shape for how I use a folding knife….. Think cutting in space. This is because of the lower tip right? I always felt that the leafier shaped blades were better for "pocket knif...

Re: Endela or Straight Spine Stretch?
My two most carried besides FFG Delica. Stretch is a lock back PM2 Endela is a short Endura. Stretch handle is gonna be a bit more comfortable for long or hard use but I don’t like the choil. (and I don’t use folders for hard use…. Either a fixed blade or utility knife for those purposes) Endela is ...

Re: Future and (perhaps improvable?) marketing of the "handle forward design"
For myself steel is what drives my purchasing. I bought a RJ because of the new and excellent design even though VG 10. (and wanting a wharncliffe). Endela and Stretch 2 waited for k390.... will by an RJ and a LJ in k390 The RJ is a "afi" type knife still and likely peeps are waiting for s...

Re: Would you buy a VG10 knife in 2022?
Bought a R Jumper cause the design and hopefully it will get K390 Waited on the Endela and Stretch 2 for K390 In a folder I would recommend vg 10 ( over say k390) to a new user for general use although it is burry when sharpening. In general I am done with VG 10. And S30V family steels also. (in a f...

Re: Help me decide - Endela or stretch k390?
Stretch better for work or heavy use. More belly, bigger handle
Endela more tactical. Less belly for better cutting in space, no choil to get caught on material for quick cuts, caries a bit smaller due to slimmer handle
I have both one is for work and one is for not-work.

Re: A question for Sal regarding the Rockjumper
An emergency cut on a rope, in a climbing situation, a fishing situation, or other, requires a one shot cut. handle close to cutting edge seems like a solution that prevented a sharpening choil or finger choil from fouling the cut. Doing this on a mid-lock-back is challenging. "Handle forward&...

Re: Endela Salt ?
Handle is more important than blade and designed for use. Blades are made for jurisdictions.
Why is there always pictures of handles where there could be 1/16" more blade?
A 3.6 inch blade is no longer legal in some places so it might as well be 4 inches
