Re: Manix 2 sprint

It can't be in stock. Sometimes Oso Grande will indicate things are in stock when they actually aren't in the warehouse.

Edit: I just called them and it's currently available for pre-order. They're not in stock.

Re: Mantra Problem

I'll add to my "mine is fine" comment. The Mantra is the best Spyderco flipper I own. It flies out of the detent when activated. The Domino is a close second. It also flies out. The Positron works well, no complaints. The Southard is a bit sluggish for me, but that's the only one that does...

Well I am curious how widespread the problem is. From the original thread it seemed like it was very common.
Mine is fine.

Well, before I got my HAP40 Endura, the CPM-M4 Manix 2 was the sharpest knife I owned. It cuts like a lightsaber if you sharpen it well.

Re: Would sanding the finish on my Tenacious blade negatively affect it's heat treatment?

You definitely could if the local temperature got hot enough. You can also warp the grains and plastically deform then with ductile deformation.

You just need to be careful and understand the properties of the steel you're working with.

Re: Spyderco Myrtle (C194CFTIP)

It rides just fine in my 501 blue jeans front pocket. It's very ergonomic and comfortable in the hand. I swear this knife makes me want to cut fruit all day.

Try cleaning the surfaces that touch on the lock bar and tang. Q-tip and Hoppes. My Myrtle was like that.

Mine will be here tomorrow. I can post pics after I get back from gorging myself with delicious smoked meats (aka Texas BBQ).

It's going to be hard to do this shot unless you have a lens with a focal length greater than 80mm.

If I was cutting fruit all day, this is the blade shape I'd want.

Re: Spyderco Myrtle (C194CFTIP)

I ordered one this morning. The edge line will be a challenge to sharpen but I'll figure it out. The Taichung manufacture, materials used, and the ergonomic handle geometry made me push the "Add to cart" button. :)

Re: Tighe stick may be dropping soon

Sharpening a knife like this is always a challenge for me. The Myrtle appeals to me but I'm not sure how sharpening will go on my Edge Pro.

Edit: I just ordered a Myrtle. The handle contours, materials and Taichung manufacture really speak to me. I'll figure out how to sharpen it.

So they can hold your package for ransom. Customs can be a bit of a wild west affair here.
Aha, got it. That would be inbound into the USA. I've had to pay customs before on watched and stereo equipment. It's a roll of the dice, for sure.
