Re: C27P Jess Horn

Thanks Paul, $484 seems a great price for something like this, condition is a factor of course. I'm in the lower 48. Glad to have been of some help. The fact that, within the relatively small number of C27's made, you have a bunch of variables in addition to condition that influence desirability ma...

Re: 3/4 of 2020 are almost passed...

Six, so far, for me. In alphabetical order they are the Autonomy 2 CF/S30V, Chaparral Sun/Moon, One Eyed Jack, SpyOpera, Wakiita Funayuki, and Wakiita Petty. Nothing else currently available or recently disco'd excites me even a bit, so whether I will purchase any more new Spydercos in 2020 depends ...

Re: C27P Jess Horn

The last plain edged C27 to sell on eBay went for $484.00 back in June. That said, like every other older knife, condition will be a major factor in price. Your location may also have some effect. I have no idea where you live but, for example, some knives fetch more in EU than in the USA while othe...

Re: Stop throwing away Amazon boxes!

I will admit, there are things I have a very difficult time throwing out, but Amazon boxes have never been one of them. :p They generally get broken down the day they arrive, stacked on a shelf in the garage till I have enough to bundle, then tossed in the trash can. Herb-Ox jars, Altoid tins, and t...

Re: Chaparral with full steel liners (not nested)

The para military? The look similar, no size change if I recall right? On that note, the para 3 name is just plain wrong :p Differences, while not huge, are large enough that I suspect no parts aside from some of the screws would be interchangeable. Sizes are in mm: -----------PM - PM2 Blade--: 081...

Re: Chaparral with full steel liners (not nested)

That must have changed the weight! Why not call it a Native 6. I wonder what needs to happen cqi-wise to warrant a number change. Spyderco naming conventions have always been somewhat inconsistent and puzzling. However, generally speaking, version/generation changes imply either the resurrection of...

Not a Delica fan, but if KW or anyone else ever sponsors a Stretch like that, I'll be in for a couple. Maybe more than a couple if it's the straight spine version. :)

Re: Scale Swap Question

Hardest to swap would be a pinned all stainless midlock, like this Mariner. http://www.paulberetta.com/images/knives2/early_mariner_se.jpg Easiest would be something like this Centofante Memory that has a single screwed on blob for a scale. http://paulberetta.com/Centofante%20Memory/images/centofant...

Re: Jimi & Janis: Strange Circumstances Of Their Demise

However don't discard the fact that both Hendrix and Joplin were huge "Anti VietNam war" protesters. And so many war protesters in that time slot of 1968 to 1972 were dying mysteriously left and right. The list gets huge when you name off the many band members whose names weren't all that big yet. ...

Re: Six-Thousand Nine-Hundred Forty Days

Come to think about it I haven't seen one of those Spyderco 9-11 commemorative models. Which was basically a D'Allara model with an S30V blade in a really nice hand made, hardwood box. I think at one time you could pick the number you wanted. If my memory is right I think there were about two thous...

Re: Sprint/Exclusive Deal Breakers

What are some things that will keep you from buying a knife in a model and steel that you would otherwise buy in almost any other combination?? So for example, some of my favorite models include the Endura, Delica, Dragonfly, Military, Manix, and Native. If a dealer did an exclusive in any of those...

Sad losses, all three. Still, if their autopsies were being held now, I'm pretty sure their tox screens would all read like the inventories of a well stocked drug store and a well stocked liquor store.

Re: Tip solidity?

Yep, total agree, pork was just a joke for describe my thought and agree too with the "helmet" no problemes to chanche my spyderco if broken in SD situation, but if you broken the tip in this scénario you lost stabing possibility. Going to depend on how the person is dressed and where you stab them...

Re: Tip solidity?

Can only give you my personal philosophy. If I carry a knife for self defense, I think of it the same way I think of a motorcycle helmet. That is to say, it's just an expendable piece of protective equipment. If it saves my life once, it's done its job and will be replaced before there is a "next ti...

Definitely getting the Birdseye Maple Chaparral, already have my pre-order in for that one. Plan on getting the CBN Benchstone. Probably will get the PE LC200N Atlantic as well, definitely will if it's FFG.

Re: How to cancel account?

Unlike work, on something like a forum you can just leave, but as Warstein mentioned earlier, it’s too bad if you give one person such power over you (power they don’t even realize they have), that you quit doing something you enjoy doing. But that’s OK, because we’re all different, and we all hand...
