Re: Recommend TV Shows to binge watch while you Shelter-in-Place

Also, regardless of what you may think of Kevin Spacey's personal life, the first five seasons of Netflix's House of Cards are definitely binge worthy and that's mainly due to his performance as Frank Underwood.

Re: Trusted knife trading services?

No trusted services per say, just trusted members on different platforms... The 2 best w/ the least amount of scamming or problems by a long margin are reddit knifeswap & bladeforums listings(u have to pay a yearly fee to sell). I dabble on FB & IG as well but there are way to many shady deals & ch...

Re: Handle scale color and material

Depends. As a collector, there are Spyderco models that I'll buy every variant of, regardless of handle color, material, or texture. On the other hand, for the ones I actually carry, I have a strong bias toward natural materials and Micarta, but I'm open to most materials Spyderco has used with the ...

Re: So, how are you staying busy during the lockdown?

Amused myself for a couple hours yesterday evening and this morning, stringing along a scammer who called to tell me I'd won 2nd Prize in a Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes and that the prize would consist of a check for 2.5 million dollars, $50,000 in cash, and a new Mercedes Benz. Normally I s...

Re: Mule Team Survey

1) Did you purchase a Mule Team knife in the past? Yes, several 2) Did you put a handle on it? Yes, two of them 3) Did you make or buy a sheath? Yes, one of them 4) Did you test the performance of your Mule? No. I've used one, but I wouldn't call it performance testing. 5) Did you test the performa...

Re: Spyderco model ID

Interesting. Why different model numbers? Don't know the "why", although it might have made it easier for dealers to keep track of inventory so not sure why they eventually merged them either, but the Pro-Grip is not the only model where the FRN and SS versions originally had different SKU numbers....

Re: Recommend TV Shows to binge watch while you Shelter-in-Place

I don’t watch much tv usually but I did start watching Tiger King on Netflix and it is the most amazing train wreck I have ever seen. Wow! I've only watched ones available in English but I've found Netflix's branded offerings among them to be a mixed bag. The ones I've watched have included some gr...

Re: Recommend TV Shows to binge watch while you Shelter-in-Place

A few more bingeable Netflix branded series to consider would Longmire, Designated Survivor, Narcos, and Narcos Mexico. There are also a few great Netflix branded movies, including Highwaymen, The Irishman, and El Camino (if you haven't watched Breaking Bad, Netflix also has the entire series and yo...

Re: Dealing With Panic here in the USA?

I'm just hoping I'll be able to retire comfortably some day. Had a good thing going prior to all this. Checked the ole 401K when this all first started, lost $35K and haven't checked it since. That's about the only thing I really plan for with the future, nearly made me sick :( I know everyone else...

Re: Dealing With Panic here in the USA?

To put that in perspective, Johns Hopkins puts the US death toll due to medical errors at 250K per year... FWIW, that statistic is completely bogus. It includes everyone who dies _and_ had a medical error. That includes (real example) terminally ill patients who missed a single dose of a medicine u...

Re: Dealing With Panic here in the USA?

No, it's probably worst in places where state or local government has fueled panic buying by imposing lock downs. Stores in my area are a bit more crowded than normal at the times I normally shop and low or devoid of items like paper products, bread, meat, rice, and milk but everyone shopping is pol...

Re: So, how are you staying busy during the lockdown?

I'm a borderline recluse by nature, so pretty much the same ways I stayed busy before it. Romeo gets his 4 half mile walks a day and between those I spend way too much time on the computer, cook, eat, clean the house, play tug of war with him, and watch a show or two on Netflix. I also shop if I nee...

Re: What makes me angry

Libertarians would say that there is actually an argument to be made here for "price gouging". The knee jerk reaction is get a rope and hang'em. But hold on a New York minute. The objective here is to prevent hoarding and get supplies to the people who need it while incentivizing manufacturers, dis...

Rather have it on the Autonomy 1 but it certainly has my attention.

Wouldn't pass up a PE Autonomy 2 with CF scales in just about any decently stainless steel, but I'd be all over a PE Autonomy with a FFG LC200N or S30V blade and CF scales. :D

Re: Corona Virus Possible Effects On The Internet??

Agree that increased bandwidth usage will be the major effect for on the internet itself and on cable service for those of us who connect that way. OTOH, while more people may be doing more online shopping, at least some others will be thinking twice before ordering anything from individual sellers ...
