Re: Dyad II or New Concept Double Blade Folder?

Designed for the hand not the eye ( I'm sure I got that wrong as a quote , but the idea is the same ) was an ethos that was touted by Spyderco in days gone by .
I'm not being nasty or looking for an arguement , but the Dyad is the most unergonimic Spyderco that I've ever owned , used and held .
I ...

Re: Dyad II or New Concept Double Blade Folder?

The Dyad is a conundrum.
The first Spyderco I ever bought was a Grey Dyad Sprint .
It was to big to heavy and its ergonomics were horrible , I soon sold it and Im just happy I persisted with he Spyderco brand because everything else I have purchased has been perfect .
Then a year or two ago I cam ...

Re: How did ZDP189 go from a stainless steel to carbon steel?

I would really like to know if there is a difference between the ZDP used on Caly 3 and 3.5 knives and the Delica - Endura line ?
I have an old Caly 3.5 that I bought secondhand and it arrived with a slight patina to the ZDP .
Over a period of time the patina escalated to a heavy patina which helped ...

Re: zdp-189 Delica...any good?

I rate the ZDP Delica highly .
The fact that you can get it as a production run and not a sprint is a great move on Spydercos behalf in my opinion .
I carried a ZDP Delica exclusively for many months before venturing into the world of alternative Delica steels ( superblue , hap40 )
In all honesty ...

Re: FRN Worker ?

I've been contemplating this idea ( straight from the horses mouth ) that the Worker concept is outdated and run its race .
After much contemplation I think that the problem with the most recent incarnations of the Worker is that it forgot who it was and where it was from .
Forget G10 and all the ...

Re: VTOKU Sprint Run

Anyone else experienced this steels tendency to create a wire edge while sharpening ?
Not a big deal to fix , just different than my other Delica steels , Hap40 , Superblue , ZDP189

They took the small hose that was ...

Ken,
One of my favorite photos from your many posts, thanks.

Are you planning on expansion with the new V-TOKU2 and WC HAP-40 or S30V ?

Even though I own a number of different Spyderco's I've narrowed my choice down to one knife for 99% of my carry .
I just happen to own of few of that one knife to choose from .

Easy.

I chose the locks I do because they are the only ones I find do a good enough job keeping the knife securely closed, while the others only do a good job at keeping the knife locked open in my experience.
Absolutely the best answer

I spent the first 35 years as a Kiwi and the last 14 as an Aussie .
I look at the best aspects of both lands and quickly disregard the rest .
Good luck truly surviving of the land in any country in the world .
If I was forced to I would base myself in a coastal setting not inland because the sea can ...
