I'm fairly new to sharpening to be honest, but I get better results freehand than I do with the sharp maker. Easier to control (IMO) and I can get a much nicer bevel with my diasharps than the SM. Love my Sage2. Perfect size (for me anyway). I use it as a hard user and I work in a sand and gravel pit. Cuts great, carries great, nice and light and the clip is great. Just my .02.

I've never tried it but my guess is that any knife with similar pillar construction may behave the same way. Couldn't hurt to try.
Gave it a try. Didn't quite work out. I don't own a para2 but I'm guessing the construction is a little different. With the sage2 the pivot is female on both sides ...

Anyone know of this method works with a Sage 2? I have it **** near perfect....but it could go over just a hair more and when I tighten either side of the pivot, it seems to put to much pressure on the blade and open real hard.
