That's strange because both my Manix 2 LW The transparent Blue and Drk BLue with the s110v have very smooth action and feel very solid . The lock up feels very strong to and I've had a few fellow knife lovers check them out and even commented how good and smooth the action felt .Personally love ...

My big problem with the Manix 2 LW is that the built quality doesn't seem as high as the regular manix models. It's not the handle that feels cheaper exactly, it doesn't feel as smooth as the G10 models. At least comparing an XL Manix 2 to the LW.

DLC is a type, PVD is the method. I believe all of the DLC knives for the US are done by Ionbond. Know they opened up a facility close to Portland oregon recently.

I got a DLC Manix 2 XL because DLC knives tend to be smoother. My example is really really smooth so I guess that's true.

Looks like a good satin finish to me. Maybe blasted then polished. But it's too shiny and reflective to be just bead blasted and it's definitely not stonewashed.

I think you could do it with a round of voting and nominations, then you could try something like a kickstarter like goal system, to where if there were enough preorders the order would go through and we'd get the knives but it it doesn't meet the goal, your money would be refunded.

I've had pretty good luck doing a couple of backwards swipes on 3m trizact sandpaper then switching to a chromium oxide loaded belt. Not with S90V, but it works great on D2, S30V, and CPM 154 with very quick results.

Bring back G10 models. The FRN makes me want to punch a baby. Maybe Spyderco should split the Endura up into two tiers like they do some of their other models. Offer a G10 version with a higher end steel like S30V or CPM 154, and bump the steel down with the price on the FRN models. Like keep the ...

Yea but he said:

We haven't seen the lock breaking machine's trail of destruction. I'm guessing that if Spyderco was breaking Tuff's left and right and Para2's were laughing, the Tuff would have been built differently. As a data point, I remember Andrew Demko said that the strongest ti frame ...

The stock diamond stones aren't very good for reprofiling blades, but you can get good results if you clip a DMT extra coarse stone on to the rods. The one thing the Sharpmaker is missing imo is more adjustment. A lot of edges would need fairly heavy reprofiling to get to 20 degrees on each side. It ...

I don't think the Tuff would necessarily be any stronger with a compression lock. It's the old question Sal answers from time to time. No lock is inherently stronger than another - it's how they're sized and built that determines strength. The compression lock seems mechanically stronger though ...

Injection molds are expensive, but once you have them you can produce a complete FRN handle for less than the cost of a single machined G-10 scales. H-1 is expensive compared to other knife steels, but the cost of the Salt series has been kept down by the use of existing molds.

G-10 may be an ...

Bit specific, but an internal stop pin for increasing lock strength/getting rid of vertical play, a solid G10 handle with a wire clip, and a FFG version of the Endura 3 blade (realize the tip is stronger on the new ones, but I think the older ones look a lot better).

Nope...I think that the massive choil takes away too much edge, and I would like to see a smaller choil, backed into the handle slightly with the palm swell made slightly less extended in order to very slightly flatten out the handle slightly and provide about 1/3 of an inch more edge.

A very ...

This looks cool. The tatanka looks really cool, but looks a bit big for me. I'd prefer a version with a 4inch blade. Hope the powerlock shows up in some other models because it looks like a really solid principle.

If you hold your Manix 2 Lightweight up to a a strong light, you will notice that there are several hollow chambers inside the handle. I suspect that the rattle you are hearing may be caused by a tiny piece of plastic is loose inside one of them. If that's the case, then it's harmless.

I actually ...
