Re: The best pocket knife ever

In regards to the above reference to the “spinning pivot” And the earlier reference to a “self destructing pivot” by a different poster (not sure which model that was in reference to).... can someone explain in laymen’s terms what these remarks are in regards to? Are people talking about when they ...

Re: Does anyone make scales for the left handed pm2 that you can actually buy

You need to go to the "Made to Order, 2 Scales" section, select the material, then select the model.

Re: Fastest selling Sprint knife?

The Dark Green S110V Native forum knife was sold out in about 2 hours. Though, I think the forum knives are considered an exclusive or something separate. That's the craziest release I was a part of. Believe it was the first Spydie folder in 110v and the k390 mule also dropped at the same time. Pan...

Re: Does anyone make scales for the left handed pm2 that you can actually buy

Iirc, I read a while back that firesideco would make them, but assume it would be a custom order and you may need to send the knife in?

Have been meaning to follow up on that actually, but keep blowing my play money on other new knives. :o

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

^Very nice. Outside of Spydies I'm a big Bussekin junkie.

Had my first ever Benchmade land yesterday. Got a very nice deal on a 417 FACT off the BF Exchange. Have wanted one of these basically since they came out but was hesistant to "cross the line" lol.

Re: Manbug and the Starling 2

Sweet! Think I'm officially hooked now. :) The Starling is really nice for the price. The f&f isn't quite as good as the Jester, but I didn't expect it to be. https://i.ibb.co/GnfhkXR/2020-04-01-13-45-39.jpg Manbug Salt will remain on my keys. The HB and Starling will get fobs and go into pocket car...

Re: 1st spiderco

A bit more expensive, but the back lock Manix 2 can still be had:

Both are great knives, the Manix is a notable step up in size from the Native.

Re: The best pocket knife ever

Just like the early reports on the Chaparral lw iirc...

Thin stock + stiff back lock = sore fingers for some. In my experience, both broke in just fine. No complaints at all on my pair.

Handle is just a touch shorter than the Urban, but the blade is 2mm longer.

Re: The best pocket knife ever

Until you remove the clip on the BH, you can never fully understand it's greatness. Ha, not sure why I haven't removed mine. Literally never use it. I'm a lefty though so at least it doesn't press into my palm in use. The Kiwi 4 is sweet as well. Still haven't figured out the Dragonfly. The ...

Thanks all, I'm in. :)

Have a Meadowlark HB that I like a lot, but only started getting into the sub-2" blades recently and didn't know this was out there until a few days ago.

Re: Manbug and the Starling 2

Necro bump, but wondering if anyone else has feedback on the Starling 2 in general or vs. the Spyderco keychain knives? The g10 scales and BD1 steel look attractive to me in a tiny knife, plus it has a nice blade shape. The g10 Jester has me wanting another LBK in g10. If there was a g10 Ladybug I'd...

Re: Knife conscience

I went through a period when I bought some very cheap knives to practice regrinds and other mods on, think MTech. Should I feel bad that I actually like some of them now? :o

But otherwise, not really.

BABY. HORN. NOW!!!!!!!! Oh gosh, what I would do for a sprint with an upgraded steel! SB, K390, LC200N, M4, pick your poison! We're thick as theives on that one mate. One of the most underrated releases I've seen in my years as a Spyderholic. Been tempted to buy a backup to my backup just because t...

Re: Are sprint runs too small?

Never underestimate the power of scarcity, or even the illusion of it, to drive demand. (See: T.P. hoarding) Imo, dealers who commission their own exclusives shoud do whatever they want. Also, if an exclusive sells out in 15 minutes, that tells me they (Spyderco and the dealer) priced it waaay too l...

Re: Please educate me on Flashlights

Budgetlightforum.com is an impressive flashlight forum. They've put out a bunch of community-driven "BLF" lights developed in partnership with various manufacturers. Really amazing how much led and battery technology have transformed what is possible (and very affordable) in such a short time. ^^Ni...

Re: My 1st Byrd - a Tern, colour me impressed!

Congrats! They are pretty nice. Had one briefly but ultimately gave it away since I have a lot of UKPKs. The HH UKPK has provided some relief, but I always thought it was a little odd that for years the Tern has been the only regular g10 slip joint option available in the whole lineup. Beats nothing...

1. Yes. Bought 3 total. Kept 2 in B70P, sold the other one. 2. Yes. One flat and one 3D from Halpern 3. No. Currently use a cheap nylon sheath I had on hand for one, the other fits in my kitchen knife block (but grabbed more often for general/utility use than kitchen use). 4. Yes. Not formal testing...
