Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
As a follow up to my previous posts about some side to side issues, I sent my Shaman to Spyderco and just received it back.
I'm happy to say that there isn't any side movement at all. This knife is just solid!
Very impressed by the speed & service from the Warranty Dept.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
Check out Nick Shabazz' YouYube disassembly and pivot tuning of the Shaman.
Just watched Nick's video with the Shaman. Unfortunately no luck eliminating the movement. Thanks for the recommendation though!
Hi ZL1,
There shouldn't be any side to side.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
Been edcing this beast since the 27th. It's very smooth after some maintenance.
My only gripe is that I cannot eliminate side play no matter how hard I tighten. I can shake the knife while open and feel/hear the blade moving. I'm guessing there's a fitment issue somewhere that I haven't found.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
Just got mine. Action feels a bit poor but it feels great in the hand. Feels like a knife you can throw around.
Anybody having contact with the backspacer and tip of the knife?
The action on mine was a bit stiff so I disassembled it, cleaned it with alcohol, added some nano oil to the pivot and ...

Will a simple wipe down with a cloth work for blade maintenance? I've misplaced my tuf cloth.
I don't mind the patina forming on my GB2 but I also let that happen.

I'm looking at the Advocate in the future.
I'm also still down for the Shaman if it's still in the works.

Re: 52100 Military, what are your plans?
I really like the carbon fiber. It feels a lot nicer than the Cruwear Millie I had.
Lockup is excellent! No wiggles and its very smooth.
It's actually a bit sharper than the s110v Para 2 I just received and I wouldn't say that has a bad edge either.
