Re: Help me decide. PARA3/Cru Carta vs GB2

I know you have already decided on the GB2 but this old video may bring some extra points to the knife. It is referring to the original Bradley Folder but it is still applicable to the GB2.

Re: Help me decide. PARA3/Cru Carta vs GB2

Another vote for the GB2.

The liners while they are proud of the scales are not sharp in any way. The edges are smooth and rounded.

The M4 steel is a workhorse.

Re: Lion Steel Spydercos ?

If an integral lock is part of the frame then does it matter if the frame is one piece or two? Either way it’s an integral lock.

Okay I see what you are talking about. Integral takes on a different meaning depending on the application.

So, I am looking at my Brad Southard flipper and wondering about your statement. I wouldn’t dismiss Taichung all that easily.

This is one attractive design. If I were to get one I would think about removing the clip. For me it actually takes away from the design of the knife.

Re: Let's Talk Wharncliffes

I love wharncliffe blades. I’ve used my Air for everything from opening parcels to digging a splinter out of a finger. That particular knife has a nice fine point for that.

Re: question about new g10 salt line

Rinsing the knife will help avoid salt buildup. If you work on the oceans you will get salt buildup in and on everything. A fresh water rinse is what I used for years and that was almost 50 years ago. Most knives were not stainless then. I had no rust issues then so I can only imagine how these salt ...

That was a great review by Erica and she put that knife through things many of us might not do with ours. It’s good to see reviews like this after real world experience.

Thanks for posting, Gernot. I'm kinda diggin' the Slym (sp?) and the Millie 2 Salt.

That Slym is a good looking knife. You don’t mess around with Slym. Reminds me of a song way back.

Re: The end?

In the mid 70’s when I was serving in the military I bought a Gerber folding sportsman. That knife served me well throughout my Coast Guard years and beyond. In those times the Gerbers and the Bucks were the more commonly purchased knives at the PX.

Twenty five years later I bought a Spyderco ...

Re: Spyderco knives: Copper, Brass and Bronze scales?

Seems like a prime opportunity to put in a shameless plug for Centofante 3 & 4 sprint runs in micarta and Cru-Wear with a copper spyder. Hollow grind, of coarse. Maybe one in double red micarta and one in Denim blue micarta.

I regularly pack a ZDP-189 Dragonfly with solid copper scales from ...
