The Domino is an amazing knife. With all the compromises one has to make when designing a great knife, I think the Dominio hit the sweet spot of all of them. I truly wouldn't change a thing. I've only had the Domino for 10 days, yet I've already carried it more than my PM2, Manix 2 and Caly 3.5 ...

Great comparison photo, thanks Infinite Zero for posting that! Now I'm even more excited to get mine. I really like my Manix 2 so the similarities to it are welcome. The differences look to be improvements as well: Domino is lighter, slightly narrower in the handle and with the rear finger choil ...

The Domino is at the top of my list. Since I'm newer to the frenzy, I didn't pre-order anywhere and can't find it in stock online. Do the brick and mortar stores traditionally get the new models at the same time as the bigger online dealers?

As Dan suggested, the Manix2 is a great knife, I just got the all black version today. I'll carry it much more than the FRCP version as the G-10 has the perfect amount of texture to it and the added weight makes it feel much more substantial. An oz more weight would have been perfect from the FRCP ...

Based on what you said you like I think you HAVE TO GET a Gayle Bradley. I'm more of a smaller knife guy for EDC (3" or so) but there are a lot of times I look in my pocket and there it is, the GB. The M4 steel is great and everything else about the knife is about as good. VERY solid work knife ...

Branching out to other brands, recent additions

I was a one brand guy (have a dozen and a half BMs) until very recently. I really got frustrated waiting for the exact configuration I wanted from that one brand so I've decided to branch out and give other reputable production knives a try.

I Live in the Metro Denver area ...

Axis for me, but I've only had a Compression lock and a back lock for a day now (with a CBBL on the way). Initial impressions are that the Compression lock on the Para-military2 is a very simple design, seems to be solid as can be but isn't as ambidextrous friendly as the Axis lock is. The back lock ...

I fondled a Caly 3 damascus yesterday at the Spyderco Factory Outlet in Golden, didn't notice any blade play on it when I was casually checking it out. I went with a G-10 Caly 3.5 instead because although the CF looked sweet, it' just wasn't as grippy as the the G-10.

I never owned a Spyderco before yesterday (been a BM guy) and since I live 30 minutes from the factory I went to the factory store yesterday and picked up a Caly 3.5 and a Para-Military 2. The Caly 3.5 was extremely gritty just as the OP described. I found a few hair thin metal shavings aprox. 1/2 ...
