From my experience AEB-L only shine at very high HRC like 63+ with really thin geometry.

Every prominent knife makers who works with 52100 gonna say the same that proper heat treat cycle are way much more importance than the number of HRC testing...

Steel like 52100 does abundantly benefit from multi-normalizing, no matter if you stock removal, it is a MUST.

Austenitizing at 1475F 15 ...

The same thing can be happen to any steel at the same hardness but the difference is the capability for taking force until it's broken for each steel. S110V will broke much easier than most steel when it come to prying.

Neither is hardening all the way though, neither is what the ABS guys do.....

Still want to see that 1095 blade that is hardened all the way though at 61 HRC that doesn't snap or crack....

That is what the real point is.... ;)


Why would you need a blade ...

If it wasn't a spring temper it would have snapped long before it reached 90 degrees...

Show me a blade in 1095 at 61 HRC that is hardened all the way through at 61 HRC that will pass the that 90 degree bending test......

Basic spring temper in a spring steel so it's not surprising really...

A lot of different types of things they can do to the spring steels to get that kind of flex...

Not sure what spring temper you talking about... gas torch spine? this is not. I already said this blade ...

1095 at 62-63 RC isn't going to bend very much before it snaps..... Given the same geometry...

Now yeah at 55-59 RC with a spring temper yeah it will bend more before it breaks.... But it will still break, it will just take longer....

1095 with a Differential Heat Treatment like the ABS guys do ...

I have Blue Para2, Grey Para2, Orange Para2 and plain s30v Para2. All of them had been used for decent amount and I really cant noticed any superior edge retention between them. M390 and CTS20CP both got dulled after been cut on large amount of papers, same as s30v. IMO what people called 'super ...

The cons are many people just missed to order the green para sprint, it should be 1 piece/person

I feel like m390 has something like 2 time edge retention of s30v. My blue m390 got dull now, probably i use it too much.

M390 has slightly better micro-chipping edge resistance than both 20CP and 204P due to the advance of 3rd PM technology.
