I have a purple Delica purchased from Knife Center about a year and a half ago. I like purple, it reminds me of the Pez candy I used to love as a child lo these many years ago.

I love curved blades (generally speaking), including my Superhawk PE which I understand was discontinued a good long while ago (afaik).

I love my Tasman Salt SE, but I never carry it in my pocket. I can see air between the curved blade and the handle when closed. I don't want anything to get in there and pry it open when I'm carrying it. I have enough problems.

I wouldn't consider the Yojimbo 2 a SD knife any more than I would regard a boxcutter (on whose design it is clearly based) to be a weapon of aggression. It's all in the way one uses it, either EDC, utility or SD. For me the Y2 is a great utility. I have two of them btw.

The tip of the blade on the Lil' Matriarch is straighter than the fullsize. Is it better than any other hawkbill? I think it is. The belly really gives the Lil' Mat a regular knife cutting edge, while the recess, or hawkbill, feature is great for typical hawkbill duties. Although the Lil Mat looks ...

The motivation to buy multiple Spydercos, in my experience, is not the expectation of use or investment value but to follow the dictates of a radio program which, when it plays in your head, tells you to buy this cutlery.

I have:

Manix2
Yojimbo 2, plus Janich trainer
Two Civilians, one early model ...

What a beautiful sentence you wrote there, Evil D. Reads like a line of dialogue from an old Clint Eastwood movie.

The Y2 was made to Janich's specifications regarding the size of the spydiehole and seating of the compression lock. I would prefer a larger hole size. (Never thought I would ever say that.)

Could the rough spot have been the result of an abrasion on the ball that somehow happened later, therefore affecting what originally was a smooth action?

(Writing "abrasion on the ball" made me hurt a little.)

I thought it was about someone losing a watch or getting one broken. I watched the movie and it is very good imo. When I saw the name of one of the leads I initially thought it would be like Brokeback Cop Car or something, but it turned out to be a realistic (?) CA cop movie.

Sithus, you're right: the grind marks on mine are extra coarse, more so than those in DigitalUrbanCamo's pics. I believe it all has much to do with the urgent production schedule for this much in demand model, as I mentioned in an earlier post.

It is impossible for me to answer this question. The radio program that pops up in my head with an unsettling frequency (no pun intended) and which tells me to buy Spyderco cutlery is unpredictable, and implacable.

I'm sure they would adore the chance to either make it right or properly explain their stance (if "normal").

It's very common for people (not you) to come screaming and flailing, Spydie-crew begs the poster to let them make it right, the knife never gets sent in. In that case all that happens is ...

Does it still cut? Unless it's going to be a collectible safe queen, that's all that matters. If you use it then it will get scratches, why should the finish matter? If you want mirror finished fancy blades then Spyderco is not for you. If it were mine I wouldn't think twice about it. As a matter ...

It does look rough. I heard someone else mention they had the same issue and weren't to happy about it.

Maybe he send it back to the seller, who then resold it to me? Either that, or its a more generalized condition with this steel. Sure doesn't look normal to me though. I have over twenty ...

New Yojimbo 2

I recently purchased online a new Yojimbo 2 C85GP2. It looks and works great, except for some very noticeable grind marks, a row of parallel lines radiating down from the wharncliffe hump on the spine.

Of course I contacted Spyderco consumer service and received a prompt reply:
