Re: Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Holidays Sale!

If it's a pity party, how about the international Spyderco fans that cant either attend in person or even buy a mystery box!
The only seconds I’ve ever got have been those slipped qc and brought at normal price through authorised dealers

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?

Out of 50 odd folders, I’ll typically carry the same knife for months, years at a time, currently edc the bhq m4 para 3 lw or an rmj ucap. Familiarity is important to me and also why I have multiples of the same models or family in different flavours.

See... I would rotate that knife a quarter turn clockwise and keep those labels where they are. Our definitions are different.

It’s not my definition , it’s just basic understanding of the orientation of the object, from which measurements and features are specified.

PM2 salt black dlc arrived and well worth the wait, very nicely finished and the grip of the bi-directional texture is crazy. 👏

Re: What is a "front flipper?"

If it's located at the front - forward of the pivot, I would consider it a front flipper, and Spyderco’s definition valid.
I don’t think top/bottom or (spine/edge) position, of the front is a defining factor, nor is the direction of motion. If it’s located further back, it’s just a flipper.

Re: Question: Para 3 Salt & PM2 Salt scales

Pretty sure that by design the centre rib is intended to be the ‘landing pad’ rather than the typical oval section, which is just where the bi-directional grooves happen to change direction. Not saying it works as intended, but seems to be some confusion there. Also the satin models have a smooth ...

Re: PM2 with a QC error (?)

Am I understanding you correctly - You would consider a knife with missing laser engravings to be a first quality knife?

A laser engraving mistake unquestionably fits into the "cosmetic blemish" category. Cosmetic Blemishes are exactly what qualify a knife as a factory second.

I've seen ...

Re: PM2 with a QC error (?)

Yeah I don’t buy that this is a “second” or “unpleasant surprise”, anyone who collects coins will know the value of such things, and this will be realised in time. Cool to hear the back story, and the choice you made to keep it for posterity, and buy another, is a good one.

Re: PM2 with a QC error (?)

If you purchased from an authorised dealer and it’s known as a genuine factory error, absolutely worth keeping in my opinion - as a collectible.
If you plan on using it, maybe not so much but I like the look of the clean blade personally.

Re: Do you clean your micarta scales?

I prefer the look and feel of micarta when its dry, sometimes I’ll give it a scuff with some sandpaper to bring it back. Germs / dirt aren’t a personal concern, voted other.
