Re: Delica 4 tang notch changes

Swapped the brass backspacer in and it didn’t improve the action. I have to think that the prior owner who says the knife is Like New, must have done a swap and mixed up the lockbar and/or spring. I’m pretty good at moving the parts over with the blade when I do my own swaps. Otherwise this particu...

Re: Delica 4 tang notch changes

If you want to improve the action you could always fit a titanium (or other metal) back spacer.

Re: K390 FRN models - Has Seki improved the edge angles or sharpness?

It could be that they ran the edge bevels wider on early runs as it is a new steel run very hard so they played it safe. I would expect anyone buying k390 should have the means to reprofile an edge.

Re: Backlock unlocking force measurements

There would be some variance with the design as Evil D said, where the lockbar pivots, geometry of the parts etc all play a part. One thing I have noticed makes a significant difference is the back spacer material, a metal back spacer will hold the lock spring more firmly and impart more force to th...

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

Yeah guys I get the appeal, for sure, was just surprised at some of the expectations expressed here. I think the online format has some pros and cons but hopefully it all goes well.

Re: 2020 Seconds Sale - BREAKING NEWS

Most bots can be thwarted with proper verifications such as captcha and human order reviewing. The majority of nvideas problems were/are of their own doing and completely unrelated. Not sure why people are getting so worked up over factory seconds, I appreciate the opportunity to participate but won...

Re: Boye dent poll

I can only really speak to the delica on this one as it’s the only back lock I have long term user experience with, but I voted keep it. Regardless of why and how it came to be (or came to be removed) I really like it because I can feel the dent and close the knife one handed without looking at it. ...

Re: Delica tip shape Bother anyone else?

Yes, I like to flatten and also crown the spine on my user delica’s. Pointier tip is superior in use and aesthetics hands down, it’s not about “stabbing” it’s simply more useful to have a more precise tip.

Re: St Nicks Native 5 4V Lightweight

I received a response and apparently my order was flagged as potentially fraudulent so it’s their policy to just cancel it no questions asked.

I don’t agree with how they handled it or the response I got, but it is what it is. They obviously need my money like I need another knife

Re: Spyderco Shaman Lock Up Issue

Excess oil on the lock interface/cutout can cause over travel and stick, it could be your problem, try and dry it out or blow out with some compressed air.
I have had this a couple times with new comp lock knives that came generously lubed. Otherwise spyderco would be the best people to help..

Because they also sell to many large wholesaler/distrubuters who then sell to their retail sales customers, and finally to us. I’m not sure how that would prevent that information being made publicly available? Spyderco knows who they sell to, the distributors know who they sell to, if your concern...

Do you have any sharpening experience or equipment? You say this is your first knife?

I would suggest a vg10 delica and a sharpmaker instead.

My dad said, "Buyer beware." I am sure he did not coin the phrase. Caveat emptor, quia ignorare non debuit quod jus alienum emit ("Let a purchaser beware, for he ought not to be ignorant of the nature of the property which he is buying from another party.") Another good rule is that if it’s too goo...

Re: Blade HQ copper rex45 pm2

Fwiw pretty sure flytanium is US owned, manufactured in china perhaps but excellent quality. Also believe the owner/operator has ties to bladehq, an employee or ex employee or something. They wouldn’t be flytanium scales based on what eric mentioned about the partial liners as the flytanium ones are...
