I bought my dad a Chaparral for Christmas, he could carry a larger knife were he lives but he just prefers a smaller blade for EDC. I bought it a couple months early so I've played with it quite a bit (had to break it in for him). It is an awesome knife, I love the texture of the CF handles. The ...

When I first got my Manix 2 I had the same issue. I was in love with the knife the way it was, but I kept thinking that the knife would be perfect if the spring wasn't so stiff and I could just pull it back and close the knife easily one handed. Within a couple of days of playing with the knife it ...

I own several knives from Golden, Seki-City, and Taichung, and as everyone else has stated you can't go wrong with any Spyderco. I agree with everything that's been said so far, especially about the Taiwan knives, I just wanted to throw another option out there based on a part of your criteria that ...

I got my dad a Chaparral for Christmas. He likes some of my bigger spydercos but says they are too big for him, since he carries a knife all the time and works in an office. I was letting him look through my knife collection and sort of picking his brain without clueing him in that he was going to ...

I live about 90 miles from their Tennessee store and visit it several times a year. I've never ordered from their website or checked their prices online very close, but I have bought 8 or 10 different knives from their actual store including my Manix 2. Their prices in-store are a little high, but ...

I was glad to see Jake quit. I love the show but couldn't stand watching Jake act like a ten year old. It seemed like everyone was there competing for the title of Top Shot but Jake was there for the money only and didn't care how he got it. There are other shows for that I think Top Shot is more ...

I am curious to hear the answer to this as well. I have a Manix 2 and a Para 2, I love both of them and can't imagine a knife I would like much better than any one of these. I know there were more changes than just handle material, but that is a huge price jump from the FRN version to the new G10 ...

As far as the paramedic side goes I would go with a Salt 1 or pacific salt. They are very light and made with rust proof H 1 steel. They also have the rescue tip which should come in very handy for a paramedic. This should leave plenty of money within your budget to splurge on a knife that better ...

I have the Camo DLC Para 2, and mine did the same thing when I first got it. It didn't do it every time but I'd say 1/3 of the time. I set and played with it a couple afternoons while I watched t.v. and it cleared up, and hasn't done it at all since. Mine was simply needing broke in I guess. I'm ...

I started out with just one, I bought a Tenacious to see what this Spyderco thing was all about, I carried it edc for a few months. I loved it, so then I was ready to try a more high-end Spyderco. I bought a Manix 2 and I just couldn't get over how smoothly the knife opened and closed and how sharp ...

Thanks, I thought this was the case with H1 but I just wanted to make sure with someone who had done it, before I went to hacking on my knife. I plan on taking the bulk of the metal off with a table belt sander, and then finishing it with hand files and sandpaper. If this goes well I'm going to try ...
