I disassembled my PM2 and heeded everyone's advice to tape the blade but when I put it back together I had to partially disassemble it again after I took the tape off. I inadvertently ran my thumb down the blade and made a nice cut. You could feel the S30V slicing  Another time I stabbed my fin...

I have a couple of small shiny marks on my Sage2 from my tungsten wedding ring rubbing on the edges of the handles.

Congrats! I think all the years should be steels, ie. 1st=AUS8, 2nd=154CM, 3rd=VG10, 4th=S30V, etc, etc ;)

Probably because the Para is made in the States so they have more say over the scheduling and from what I've heard the Japanese would probably be bent out of shape using non-Japanese steels ;)

I have the Caly3 ZDP/CF & VG10/G10 and the Sage1. Each has it's pluses with no real minuses: - Caly3 ZDP/CF - The steel is perfect for this size of knife and with the laminate blade you don't have to worry about rust developing in the pivot, fast opening with a flick of your thumb - Caly3 VG10/G...

I still keep putting my PM2 DLC in my pocket though. Even though there are a few things I like more about the Para1, the PM2 is overall the better knife for me. I diced up some onions tonight and the PM2 was great at it, the Para1 was good but the pivot is too far inboard giving less room before thi...

Para-Military D2

I recently picked up a Para D2 and I'm quite impressed. I have a PM2 and even though they have definitely made improvements in almost every way I would have to say that I prefer the original in some ways. The slightly shorter/thicker blade, the non-BB-detent lock, slightly smaller spydie-hole. One t...

Christened a new knife

I was cutting a piece of tape with my new Caly3 ZDP/CF and fumbled the roll and wound up stabbing myself in the finger with the tip. I can attest that this thing is razor sharp out of the box. Bled like crazy but it seems to be healing well since it was such a sharp cut. I'm glad that I got the tip ...

Most of my coworkers are ok with my knife and flashlight hobby and some have actually started buying real knives and flashlights rather than the cheap hardware store stuff. But there was one colleague who was shocked that I would carry a knife of any size, he didn't understand why anyone would carry...

Yup, great knife, I have the DLC version and I've been tossing around buying a satin blade one. When there is slicing to do I'm always happy if my PM2 is in my pocket.

I've had my G10 Caly3 for awhile and just picked up a CF Caly3, if they had a 3.5 I probably would have picked up one of those. I really liked the G10/VG10 version but didn't like how it ripped up my pants. I was hesitant about the smooth CF but the second I held it I said "I'll take it". ...

I keep a SAK Midnite Manager on my keychain as it gives me a light, a knife, and a pen as a backup to the full-size ones I always carry, plus it has a small phillips screwdriver and scissors too: http://computernut.smugmug.com/Other/quickshots/i-HXdGQKg/0/L/DSCN5480resized-L.jpg http://computernut.s...
