Topic: Ever thought of a Strider/Spyderco collab model?

I think it will probably do more for Strider lovers than Spydie lovers. I'm pretty sure a Spyderco version of an SMF is not going to be $400.

I may also get Spyderco some new business from Strider fans that wouldn't otherwise buy them.

Also, a collaboration is mutually beneficial, whereas ...

All are good choices. I picked the ladybug for myself for two reasons. I wanted a keychain knife and it was not much more than the h1 or vg10, so I figured why not? So far it was good choice scary sharp and has held the factory edge for a few weeks now and that is rare for me any steel as I do allot ...

Forgive me for being dense, but couldnt Sal design a folder in the vein of a strider on his own? Meaning what advantage would a collaboration bring to spyderco as a company? It's not like spyderco doesn't already have a awesome brand name on its own that will sell knives.

Now if this idea of a ...

i dig the blue spacer. maybe a little better, if it was a bit more worn looking like the prototype on it's finish. i also like the proto's darker finish a bit better, but the production model still looks like a winner, to me anyways. i'm looking forward to getting one.

I used lanyards on small knives before and agree with The Deacon. But this topic got me curious about how useful (or useless) lanyard may be on bigger ones. Just for experiment I made one for Para2. Now I will make this s30v Para an EDC "of the week" and see if I like it. :)

I don't have them, but I thought the diamond rods were sleeves and that you were suppose to just slide them over the white or brown rods, not insert them into the base.

had not heard that. of course when i got mine they came with no directions other than a small piece of paper that said, and i am ...

delica wave. others said the delica, but i like the wave version. if you can stand the looks of it. it's not the prettiest, to me, but the wave feature is quite nice. you can use the wave if you want, and that gives it a big advantage over others, in self defense. although i don't recommend using a ...

could you "shim" it, with toothpicks, maybe??

sure. i haven't pulled out the protractor to see if the angles are even off by the looseness, and they may not be? i have been tempted to do exactly what you described, i didn't think of toothpicks though as the medium, thanks for the suggestion, to ...

sharpmaker abs base, wear out?...

since the post on the sharpmaker rods, got me thinking of something i noticed myself...and i decided to get info for ya'll, the experts.

the base is abs plastic, correct? i noticed when i first got it the brown and white rods, they fit tight and snug. i then after months of use added the diamond ...

This little blade and it's shape does not scare sheeple into a 911 panic when you use it in public.

i love my spyderco poliwog

the thing probably has a cutting edge of 1.5" (someone correct me) but the handle adds so much leverage in your grip and you can get your thumb out on the spine of the blade very comfortably.

i find small blade best for cutting down cardboard or opening packages ...

completely, in fact for the past 4 or 5 months I've been wondering the opposite. In normal every day life, why do I need a knife bigger than my leafstorm?

But for every day small city use, what do I need a 4 or even 3 inch knife for? :)

Excellent points. I can see in a city you'd have little ...

I used a Bug frequently at my second job. It did great at tape, bags, and even once a zip tie. For all duties it performed at least as well as the work scissors and much better than my teeth. :)

A Delica-sized pocket knife probably can handle 99% of the tasks at hand. It's good for the office ...

A couple of questions: is the Dragonfly Salt the only H1 steel folder with serviceable torx screws?, are all others riveted?

any blade smaller than a cat or 2.5" range blade useful?

i've always liked bigger folders and where i am, laws aren't an issue with 4," or bigger if you have a ccw. of course i get some big city laws telling you no blade over 1" or 2" deal, but laws aside from this discussion.... are smaller blades than the cat type size...really useful?

i just got a ...

Whaaaat! You want to have your cake and eat it?

it's actually "eat your cake and have it too." as you can HAVE your cake and THEN eat it. while you cannot EAT your cake and then HAVE it.

a minor annoying point, but i am on a mission to get this saying back to it's correct, and logical form. i ...
