Re: Titanium Damascus Delica

I would highly recommend a titanium damascus Delica, or a damascus Delica of any variety. As we speek, Im fondling my damascus, blue jigged bone Delica with anodised titanium bolsters. I love pretty much everything about it. I dont carry it very often honestly because of the lack of pocket clip ...

I've definately noticed this phenomenon as well. Not only in Spyderco's VG-10 but from other makers as well. Of the top of my head I know that my Kershaw Gentlemens Knife with its hollow ground Vg-10 displays this grain pattern. VG-10 is also the only steel that I've ever seen this in.

I think the two most important aspects of a good whittling knife are a thin grind and a low pointy tip. I do quite a bit of whittling and yard maintenance living on acreage in the Northwest and have become very partial to wharncliffe blades. Having the tip lowere than say a spearpoint or drop point ...

Ya I think $300 is a bit steep also. I would also like to see the blue bolsters changed to raw bead blasted ti. I think it would make it look a lot better. I still hope to get one though.

Anyone heard any new news on this one? Or would you like to comment at all Sal? I'm very interested in this Delica and want to make sure I don't miss out on it. Thanks!

Nice, I don't remember ever seeing one with the lockbar cutout that large. Pretty cool, I always had a soft spot for old school knives!

I've found that liquid butane, or zippo lighter fluid works fantastic for getting permanent maker or other sticky residue off your blade.

Do any of you really use the carbon knives? I know it's strong for some applications but lets say i used one for EDC and really beat it up...do they delaminate and splinter and get all crappy looking? I just don't know if i could spend the cash on such a nice knife only to beat it up using it.

In ...

As far as that other run of M4 productions knives goes, I got two of the larges and was extremely happy with the f&f, blade centering, smoothness... However I will have to agree that the sharpening job was not up to par with what I'm used to seeing. My tips were also pretty blunt. In fact maybe I ...

Wow thats awesome, have you died g10 before? If so how does it hold up with use and getting it wet etc..? I traded into a mini ritter with pale green g10 wilkins grips and have been thinking about dying them a darker color so that I can see the details and fit and finish better, but I've been ...

I am also pretty darn excited for the Sage 3. With blue g10 and the bolt action action lock it should really be something. I'd really like to buy each Sage as they come out. Right now all I have is the Sage 2, however the fit and finish is second to none on that one. I'm new to the spyderco forum ...
