As a minor there's no reason for you to even be carrying a knife of any sort. Why? You spend at least 5 out of 7 days inside of a school that does not allow a knife of any sort, not even a SAK. No reason to risk getting suspended or worse expelled. Get some edc knives like the Delica to use at home ...

Well that blows my mind then. VG10 with titanium for $100 msrp and it didnt sell well?? Thats disappointing but I guess understandable. Still think an American premium steel+premium scales would sell well if it was under the Spyderco brand name and not the Byrd.Blerv wrote:The steel was on par with vg10

For some, including me, where a knife is made is a quality just like the type of steel or scale material. If you push that quality into a forbidden zone, then you are imposing a value system which says that what I care about doesn't matter. Your point about the computer chip IS the point I'm trying...

Making a quality knife like the Tenacious is difficult. Making one on the level of the Sage series will be near impossible. It's best to allocate resources and tasks to the place with the right philosophy. Agreed. SRM makes the Tenacious so give them better steel and materials to make something on ...

What are you suggesting? That Spyderco source a folder from a China plant with a retail of 400+ USD? If so, that is an interesting idea...though, it would seem that their current business model works pretty good. Personally, I really seem to gravitate toward the 70 to 150 USD range. I bought a few ...

Not this crap again. By the same reasoning every dollar you spend on golden colorado earth also has parts of it going to bomb and kill civilians in Afghanistan and Libya. It does however answer OP's question, high end Chinese knives aren't going to sell because people's attitude on Chinese made pro...

i know every $100 knife i own has great lockup. so you saying that srm knows how to adjust a mean pivot? Nope. I own a couple $100+ knives and a Large Sebenza 21 as well and I just see a well made product that was created in China with amazing fit and tolerances that rival much more expensive knive...

I think you've been looking at the wrong $100-$150 folders. Have you tried any of Spyderco's Taichung knives? They're made in Taiwan, so they're cheaper than they would be if they were made in the U.S., but fit and finish beats pretty much all other production knives. I think this is exactly what y...

High End China Made Knives?
I think it would be a good idea for Spyderco to make higher end knives in their China factories. The Tenacious family of knives are great and all but I would love to see what the Sanrenmu factory can do with a bigger budget to improve on finish and use better materials. I've still yet to find a fold...

What's happening over in Japan is serious stuff for those who are living there and could be a real threat if things get out of control. This stuff is no joke for those who are any place near it. I really feel for the people over in Japan, the stress level of living there now has to extremely high. ...
