I would prefer it be golden or taiwan made S30v minimum. Maybe S90V for an added kick. Don't really care about scales. I love the lines of it. Use whatever works. Can't say I wouldn't mind cf but g10 is fine by me. I would still buy it in vg 10 though. I like the lines of the starmate. My thought e...

Our Golden plant is pretty busy and couldn't get to it for years. Perhaps ZDP? sal You sir are the best :D . I would take a starmate in any flavor so VG-10 suits me just fine as does zdp. I'm sure some steel geeks will chime in and ask for super blue or something and thats fine with me too. So the ...

I think the Techno looks stunning. Wire clip suits the ti scales perfectly and it is easily one of my favorite clips. The blue backspacer looks fine to me and gives it a nice contrast from the rest of knife which is all one color. Kinda like how the sebenza has blue barrel spacers and thumbstuds to ...

Return of the Starmate!!!

Sal has confirmed that he is looking into the possibility of bringing back the Starmate. I know the original Starmate is my Spyderco grail and I would love to see this knife back into production. Now I know its not a done deal but I cant help being excited about this. Just another example of Sal lis...

I'm geniunely curious as to why all these competitive bladesports cutters all use m4 when there are superior alternatives? Cost wouldnt be an issue so I'm a bit confused.

22. I think it should be 18-22 for the first age group. Spending habits might change drastically from 22 to 23 when people graduate college and go out and get employment. I realize not everyone gets a college degree but still think its more logical, anyway interesting poll.

Native!! Pinned construction awesomeness!

I just got a Spyderco Native by trading off my last Benchmade knife in my collection and I love the pinned construction. It honestly feels more solid than any of the screwed construction FRN models I have come across. I also love the fact that I dont have to mess around with the pivot. I was wrong t...

See how your lockup fares. Got mine about 1.5 months ago and the lockup was pretty early, but now is extremely late (not abused what so ever, opened and closed probably 120 times since I've gotten it.) Now I'm just worried about it becoming even looser :/ Decent knife, but definitely could be happi...

If you are the kind of person that prefers to have a knife that is secure in all aspects (seems like you are based on your post), im not sure the hinderer is ideal. I know the xm-18 has a pretty weak detent. The one I handled was a 3.5 flipper model and I was able to open it with just a light wrist ...

I dont really care either way. I like both blade shapes. Not sure if I would pick up another stretch just for a slightly different blade shape but im sure people who never warmed up to the original blade would jump all over this.

I was about to get a LW Native but after handling one in person I have to say I'm a bit disappointed and changed my mind about purchasing one. It feels kinda cheap when opening the knife and has this gritty, scraping feeling to it. The Delica feels like the better knife. Again this is just based pur...

Wait...it's 2 7/8'? Illinois legal? This suddenly got more interesting for me, price pending. I've always admired how solid and work-hungry the Native seemed, but it being a hair over our supposed legal limit always talked me down from ever investing. This...is going to be a long internal battle fo...

Dunno...that G10 is likely in Taiwan, no? :) If there are leftovers, probably more likely to be the somewhat darker blue G10 that was used in the Manix 2 sprint that (like the Para 2) is made in Golden? Ah yea forgot about that. I hope you're right. Either way I will be all over this sprint regardl...

Not a fan of the smurf blue either but I highly doubt they will use dark blue g10 when they already have a bunch of smurf blue g10 that is being used on the sage 3.
